Efbe-Schott Soft Bonnet, Hood Hair Dryer, 180 W/320 W, Purple, SC LT 52

I was in two minds about getting this or one of the cheaper alternatives to a hooded dryer. I’m very glad I went for this in the end, having been swayed by it being German-made which usually translates to quality. This product is great. It arrives in small box and you have to attach the motor to the hood yourself which is the hardest bit. It requires a fair bit of force and to pull the top of the hood over the ‘lip’ of the motor bit and to begin with I was afraid of damaging it but it was fine.I use this for deep conditioning. I apply a deep conditioner mixed with olive oil on my hair, top with a shower cap and sit under this for about 1 hour before rinsing out. Over the weeks I am noticing my 3c/4a/4b hair becoming less dry (compared to when I used to deep condition without heat).You can’t hear much when it’s on so I put in earphones and spend the time watching Netflix, or write Amazon reviews which is the case with this review :)I can update with longer term effect on hair if anyone is interested or has questions, if I can work out how to get Amazon to send me notifications when someone comments on a review. If you don’t get a response, it’s because I haven’t worked out how to do it.

Had to leave a review because i love it so much..... so far so good!2 heat settings... I’ve only used the warm setting and my hair drys less than 20 minutes.

I have relaxed hair and use this as a deep conditioning cap. So far, I am impressed with its performance. I usually place a shower cap after applying my deep conditioner and sit with it for 20 minutes, alternating between the medium and high heat settings every 5 minutes..my hair is very soft and hydrated thereafter. Strongly recommend for any African hair sisters. Haven't used it as a hair dryer though.

This product came unassembled and the instructions do not explain well enough and seem to be for a different product. It mentions a rubber ring to fit over , the ring is hard plastic and does not fit over the unit at all . I'm a very weak person as I'm disabled and I managed to rip the material trying to do this and so can't return it! Isn't it meant to come assembled or at least with the right instructions? Very unhappy as this was meant to be my Christmas present .

Yes, its well made and does the job really well, its pricey at £50 but its German and will last.Nice to get something not from plasticky China

I gave it 4 star because of it lifts of the head on some of my clients, and it does tip, so you have to keep putting it back in place.

I used to have one like this in yellow a couple decades ago and my friend borrowed it and lost it when she was moving. I will not lend this one to anyone.The comfort I suppose depends very much on what kind of rollers you use I use larger ones and it's not especially comfortable but for me that's not the point. I find it near impossible to do a decent hair do with a brush and regular hairdryer and it's great that I can have my hair done while I am reading or working in home office.

Takes a while to dry with curlers in. Easy to use and does what it says
