The Melon Audio MA-87 is a great sounding condenser microphone, but this microphone set comes with a few great accessories as well - including a silver shock mount, wind cover and XLR microphone cable. The shock mount will reduce unwanted vibrations that could be picked up by the sensitivity of the capsule, and the wind cover pop filter will help reduce unwanted plosives. Since the MA-87 is an XLR condenser microphone, it requires 48V of phantom power to function. Condenser microphones do sound very detailed for this reason, but in return require an audio interface to offer the external 48V.

For anyone thinking about setting up a home studio at a budget price, you won't get any better than this superb microphone. Highly recommended.

The audio is crisp and clear, the build quality is metal all around and same with the cage you get with it. It took about 3 weeks to arrive to the UK though but there is an quicker optional shipping option. Comes with a what seems a decent quality leather pouch for the mic and a foam cover for the mic and a kinda crappy xlr cable but you can't complain for the price. You could defo record some professional vocals with this. I'm a happy chap
