It only has one zip to one side of the pillow where you can remove the side pillow of one side. The other side and Centre component have no zips and no way of removing the cover for washing. So the product description is certainly misleading. The only way this is machine washable is if you shove the WHOLE PILLOW in the washing machine, which I am scared to do so as the spin cycle may distort the pillow shape.
