I went to the Norfolk County show about 10 years ago, when I only had one dog, and there was a stall for Akela dog food & I was given a sample to try. I opened it & she had her nose in the packet & was trying to eat it straight from the bag! I bought a small bag, in case she did her usual trick & stopped eating it the next day but she was just as keen & 10 years on she is still as enthusiastic. She has the original formula but have never tried her on other varieties in case she starts getting picky. When I got another doodle, her half brother a year later, he went straight on it and has never eaten anything else. Their stools are perfect & their teeth are very good for their age & my vet asked me what I fed them on as for a dog of her age she is in great shape. This is UK made, ingredients seem as good a quality as Orijen, it remains affordable for a quality food and retains the 80:20 formula.Added bonus, only food we could find that comes in different kibble size - don't see why premium dog food usually only has 1 kibble size, our large dog just inhaled the usually;y small kibble.
