It operates on recency, so whatever device was powered on most recently will be the input it switches to. Luckily, though, the device comes with a remote so you can switch the splitter on, and to whatever HDMI you want, without getting up. You do have to toggle on the remote (there's a button for this, don't forget to do this), but once it's done it is responsive and works well. Overall, I am happy with this product. Remote operation functioned well. ### ⭐ G-Sync does not work with this switch *by A***R on July 4, 2026* G-Sync does not work with this switch. I have a 5070 Ti going through it with certified cables. I can get 144hz refresh, but with G-Sync active, the screen cuts out. Turn off G-Sync, no cut out. Bypass the Fosmon, G-Sync works fine. So, just beware before buying. Out of the return window, so I am effed.
