This stuff has gravel in the mix, not uncommon but is not mentioned anywhere in the description. That's a tidbit of info I find important. I only coat my forge with 1/8 inch of refractory, gravel does not work for a smooth finish. I put the mix thru a screen and filtered out 1.5 lbs. of gravel out of my 4.5 lb. purchase. The description should mention gravel in the mix.
