I still give this 5 stars, as the retraction mechanism is still strong, and my opinion of the product must be positive, as I just purchased my Fourth one. After almost four years of usage, my only complaint is with the hose nozzle included with each reel. My third Glahoden’s nozzle was defective from day one. I replaced it with a sturdier nozzle from the local home improvement warehouse, and no problems since. Glahoden #2 (the one we use the most) started leaking from the faucet fitting, but I made a quick fix using a brass hose repair kit… no problems since. I absolutely still recommend this product. We drain ours and bring into the garage over the winter, so that may contribute to the longevity. ——————————— I bought the first one last Christmas and installed it at our mountain cabin. It stretches all over the property to allow us to water the shrubbery, or to wash the cars or ATV. It retracts very easily. When we moved to a new house, we bought the second one of these to put in the backyard. Again, just so happy with the ability to reach all areas of our backyard with the hose, and then to have it retract automatically into a neat, compact unit. Considering buying another one for the front yard! You will not regret buying this! Pros: 1. Utility. Just love the ability to pull out as much hose as you need, and then to have it retract once done. 2. No more ugly wads of hose or rusty hose reels on the ground! The fact that this mounts to the wall creates a nice, compact, neat place for your hose. 3. Quality. The hose itself seems to be sturdy and of good quality. It doesn’t kink or leak. 4. Winterization. When the weather gets to freezing, you can unmount the entire unit by pulling one hinge pin, and then store the hose reel somewhere that is temperature protected. Very smart! No more split hoses due to freezing temps! Cons: 1. Size. It takes up a bit of space. Know this and plan for its placement accordingly. 2. Weight. Once water starts flowing through the hose, the reel can get heavy quickly. Because of this, it must be mounted securely. For one of our reels, used TapCon concrete anchors in lieu of the provided hardware to ensure it would stay securely on the brick wall of the house. For the other, the provided hardware was sufficient to secure to wood facia on the house. 3. Hinge pin is plastic. Fairly thick plastic, but plastic. Would have preferred bronze, but so far, no problems. ***** UPDATED ***** When I pulled the hinge pin this winter to store the reel in my garage, I realized that the hinge pin is actually plastic covered aluminum. Better than just plastic, but would still have preferred bronze. If you’re wondering if you should get this, quit wondering. GET THIS! Review: Great Hose! Great service! - Great hose! Very easy to install and works very nicely! The nozzle sprayer that comes with it is a little bit finnicky and not the best quality but it was very easy to replace with one I had laying around. Keep out of sun if possible! Glahoden Team Support was very supportive whenever I had any questions! ## Features - GLAHODEN retractable hose reel - High-Flow Rapid Watering: The 5/8 in x 100 ft hose on this retractable hose reel reduces water pressure loss by 35% over long distances compared to 1/2 in hoses, saving 80 minutes per session for irrigating basketball court-sized gardens. Car washing? Demands high pressure (we don’t fake "boosted" pumps). 2. Pet baths? Needs 96.8°F water (no magical heating here). 3. Food rinsing? Requires FDA hoses (ours hydrate plants, not lettuce). **Q: What's GLAHODEN's focus?** A: Perfecting the one job you actually need: durable, kink-free garden watering. No gimmicks. Just a hose reel that lasts years, not days. **Q: How to deal with the tangles inside the reel?** A: Extend the hose to its full length and then permit it to retract smoothly as you walk it back to the hose reel housing . This will allow the self-layering mechanism to layer the hose correctly into the reel. **Q: What should I do if any part of the reel is missing or if there is a problem with the reel?** A: GLAHODEN is always a strong backing for your using experience, please feel free to seek our help! **Q: Suggestions for preventing water leakage at the interface** A: Supplied with two seals which can be replaced and a Teflon tape that can be wrapped at the interface to preventing leakage. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is my FOURTH one and love, love, love it! *by T***E on August 20, 2024* Updating a review after three years of use and four total purchases. Great service! *by A***R on September 9, 2026* Great hose! Very easy to install and works very nicely! The nozzle sprayer that comes with it is a little bit finnicky and not the best quality but it was very easy to replace with one I had laying around. Keep out of sun if possible! Glahoden Team Support was very supportive whenever I had any questions! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Game Changer for Backyard Watering & Cleanup *by C***R on May 21, 2026* Absolutely love this hose reel. Being able to easily pull out the full 100 feet of hose makes watering and cleaning around the house so much easier and less frustrating. The retractable system works very smoothly, and the slow retraction feature is a huge plus because it keeps the hose from snapping back aggressively. The nozzle is also extremely well designed and easy to use. I really like having multiple spray functions depending on what I’m doing, whether it’s watering grass, rinsing off the patio, or cleaning around the house. The 180° swivel feature also makes moving around much easier without fighting the hose. Overall, this feels like a very high-quality product that was well worth the purchase. Installation was straightforward, the hose feels durable, and the convenience factor alone makes it one of the best outdoor upgrades I’ve bought. ## Frequently Bought Together - GLAHODEN Retractable Garden Hose Reel 5/8 in x 100 ft Upgraded UV Resistant Heavy Duty Automatic Hose Reel Wall Mount 3/4 in Brass Fitting 9 Pattern Nozzle Any Length Lock Slow Retraction 180° Swivel - BoArt Garden Hose Quick Connector Set, Solid Brass 3/4 Inch Water Fitings Thread Easy Connect No-Leak Male Female 6 Sets --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sc/products/576229113-5-8-in-x-100-ft-retractable-garden-hose-reel](https://www.desertcart.sc/products/576229113-5-8-in-x-100-ft-retractable-garden-hose-reel) --- *Product available on Desertcart Seychelles* *Store origin: SC* *Last updated: 2026-10-18*
