Convient Nostalgia
This thing comes loaded with so many games! You can bookmark them and it comes with instructions for shortcuts for the operating system. I love that it also charges over type C. It does boot kind of slow.

Alot of fun!
The r36s is a great handheld gaming system for those looking for something easy to use and at the same time not breaking the bank. The new white case is really nice and clean looking. The screen looks well and has good viewing angles. All of the controls work good or as good as I would expect. The A B X Y buttons may be slightly on the small side though but it doesn't bother me. The sound is pretty good considering there is only one speaker. The ArkOs operating system is now one of my favorites for handheld systems and its easy to learn to operate. There are many different themes loaded that you can choose from. All of the different game systems on it have worked for me. If you run into problems with a games performance you can change the emulator core running it to try and improve the performance. I will say that there are no n64 games on this whatsoever. For some reason this has the exact same game load out as the r33s game system which is the exact same as this but without the joysticks. There are also no psp games but there are psp mini games. If you want to know more about what games are included just look up the r33s and you will know. The battery life is good and lasts plenty long enough for my daily needs. It's easy to charge and has no charging bugs like some other handheld games do. I use an old apple 5v 1amp charger for this and all of my handheld games and it works perfectly. A good easy to use and learn gaming system that should give alot of enjoyment.

Combines nostalgia, versatility, and portability.
The R36S Handheld Retro Gaming Console is a delightful fusion of nostalgia and modern technology. Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or just looking for a dose of retro fun, this compact device promises hours of entertainment. The R36S runs on a 64-bit Linux system, which means it’s not just a gaming device. It supports 32-bit apps and even offers wired controller compatibility. Whether you want to play retro games, explore apps, or tinker with the system, the R36S has you covered. With a preloaded TF card containing 15,000+ games, the R36S transports you back to the golden era of gaming. From classic arcade titles to 8-bit adventures, there’s something for everyone. The console’s 3.5-inch 640x480 IPS display delivers vivid colors and sharp details. Whether you’re battling pixelated foes or exploring mystical worlds, the visuals are a treat for your eyes. The 3500mAh battery ensures extended playtime—7 to 8 hours of uninterrupted gaming. Whether you’re on a long flight or waiting for your coffee, the R36S keeps you entertained. However, the OS isn't very intuitive and there is no user manual which makes using the system frustrating especially if you are not an avid gamer like me. Also, some of the games crash and are not playable. I am not sure if it is memory card or OS related. Moreover, the controls are clunky and not ergonomic. My hands and wrists are in pain after a long session.

Good games but not working well
I was very excited to receive this item since I am a big fan of retro games. Games such as 1942, Pong, Pac-Man, Mario and more had a huge impact on retro gamers. First of all, once I got the device, it turned on without issues. I played few games, and every game I played from various consoles worked. The device offers more than six gaming console emulators and thousands of games. However, after I rebooted the system twice, almost all games became non-playable. What a disappointment that was. I tried rebooting again, shutting the device and turning it back on, taking out the card and putting it back. Nothing helped. Only some games are playable and the others practically disappeared. It could be the card or OS, not sure but this was vey bad. Practically, can't play it any more. Also, since it's made the way it is, and mostly not ergonomically, fingers get tired because of playing after ten to twenty minutes. Screen looks fine, the brightness is good, colors are fine, sound is good, at the moments loud but its good. None of those matter for this device since it's basically without the games now. I can say that manufacturers have bad quality control.

Great handheld that rivals Anbernic
Been really enjoying this handheld. Its basically a clone of the similar one by anbernic.Good quality, great screen, even more pre-installed games than anbernic, like all the mario games! It has great battery life and runs games perfectly up to ps1 games.Just like other handhelds,it has trouble with n64 and dreamcast but the other systems run great!Buttons feel and work good, very responsive. The UI isn't as good as anbernics but still good enough for me.To be honest,I find myself playing this more than my rg35xx plus and H.It has so many more games.Of course you can always add your own to anbernic but,I prefer not to so, the fact it comes with so many more is a winner for me.The one thing I don't care for much is the button combinations to save and access menus.Much simpler on anbernic but,no big deal it still works just fine.Over all I really love this handheld and can definitely recommend it.

Not a big upgrade, but good on its own merits
Playing retro games on this device is fun. The buttons are a little cramped together, but this is the same for most of these models. There are a ton of games on it, so I haven't played them all, but the ones that I like had no problems running. The operating system is easy to use, although I think it takes a little too long to boot into it. The graphics are simple and there are many configuration options that I've barely been able to go through. In the end it just works! But one thing: I really wish it had kept the mini HDMI out option that's found on their earlier devices. Being able to hook the game pad to a monitor was useful to have.
