Spa lifter works as advertised
Installation instructions were clear. The box arrived with some damage by the shippers. Unfortunately the hydraulic lifters were missing. A call to the vendor resulted in quick action and the missing parts arrived within the week (thanks Sal)! Installation took awhile as I needed to reinforce by adding wood to the spa frame (hardest part of the job). I would have rated the purchase higher except my spa cover is very heavy and the lifters seem to strain under the load if I try a one handed operation outside of the spa. No problem at all if I lift in the center and step into the spa to complete the action. Just started using so long term quality is unknown but so far so good.

I'm glad I bought it, but there are some issues
First, the instructions are not helpful. My spa has rounded corners and there's no details about where to place the connectors when you have rounded corners. After a call and a not very confident customer care agent helped, the end of the support is hanging off the back of the curved corners - so that the back of the support is in line with the back of the spa. I also had to cut the vertical supports with a hack saw. I don't see how this could have fit without cutting it. With the supports off the back, it should have required longer vertical poles to reach the center of the cover. But, now that it is installed, it is very easy to lift. It says in place and I'm happy. It is a bit difficult to lower. You have to give it a shove, but then it pops down. I hope it lasts a long time!

Love it!
Instructions are horribly written but it is a very nice lift! When we bought our hot tub, it came with one of those flimsy, sit it under your hot tub body and hope it supports it, need the hulk to help swing it open without twisting and breaking, style lifts. Awful hunk of junk! We had been just sliding the cover off but my shoulder is too bad for that so luckily I found this and its such a blessing!! Even with my messed up shoulder, I can easily ONE HANDED open my hot tub now with this! Installation was super easy once you got it figured out. Just remove a side panel to be sure your frame is wide enough to support it (most will be) and add a 2x4 or two if not. Its worth it! Watch the corners though, theres no frame there to screw to so careful on how far back you mount. Also, make sure it does seat off the frame in the back in order to get clearance. It holds the cover in the air nicely, good for us. It blocks our nosy neighbor and their annoying dogs lol

Does the job.
Removing our spa cover has gotten more difficult as I age so I thought I would try a helper. This one fit our need because we do not have a lot of room around the tub and this lift required very little space. I should have read the instructions more carefully because I had to back track a couple of times but the installation is simple enough. Have used it for a few days now and it works as advertised. My only concern is for the durability of our spa cover as it literally hangs from the center hinge.

ok while it lasted
it functions well and it seems to be of good quality. mine was a return judging by the way it was packaged and some parts were put together already (i had to disassemble so i can install it properly) and it came with 2 inch screws for the mounting plate. I'm glad I didn't screw those into the hot tub cabinet or it would have gone through some of the hoses underneath. I went to home depot and spend an extra $10 and got 1 inch screws. Why drive 2 inch screws when the cabinet is only 3/4 inch max?Update: Less than a week later after only a couple of times of usage one of the strut bolts broke off. See picture. Now i have to send it back... after I drilled holes in the cabinet and put all the time into installing it. Frustrating.Update #2: I contacted the seller and they did send me a set of strut bolts to replace the broken one. I've made this a 3 star review because of the hassle and what i described above.

Would be better if manufacturers included an extra support bracket
Product arrived on time. Was overall not hard to put together. Took a while to assemble simply because I had to take the side panels off and add a 2x4 behind them for support. Would be better if manufacturers included an extra support bracket. It works great, though it takes slightly more effort to open when lifting from the start position until the shocks actually start helping. These two reasons are the only reasons I only gave 4 stars. Other than that it looks great on the spa and works great. I will update if I have any problems with it since I just installed yesterday.

Spa cover lifter
I purchased this spa cover for my Costco OC Serenity Spa. It fit perfectly and great to use for the spa cover. Little tricky installing and took about an hour to DIY. Uses a hydraulic lift to open the second part of the cover. Would buy again if necessary
