The band is not thick but thick enough to make the iPad not stick to the cover tightly, so I push it to as far away from the magnetic points as possible. Not perfect, but for me it’s better than those sticky pocket, I can use it or not use it depends on where I’m going. The pocket is decent to hold the pencil securely. I don’t think I will use it often enough to wear it out, even it does, just buy another one is no big deal.
