Adequate but there are better options for the price
I bought this because I wanted something that put out steam as opposed to mist. However, for the price it just hasn't really been worth it. Also, despite being "Swiss made" (which I thought was going to justify the price), it has a number of flaws and the unit I received had a lid that didn't fit properly. Also, it is made in China despite being "designed in Switzerland". However, I will say that I am sure it would work for some people - it's just the price is way too much for what it achieves.First, in order for it to be put out a large quantity of steam, it has to be on the highest setting, but that literally sounds like a kettle on full boil and is too loud.Second, the tank has to be taken out and tipped upside down to be refilled. Quite annoying, especially when there are designs on the market that are "top fill".Third, it has no nozzle, so you can't direct the steam where you want it to go.Fourth, as mentioned the lid didn't fill very well on my unit - it left a gap. Presumably a manufactured fault, but just adds to the image that this isn't a particularly high quality device.I exchanged it for an Elehomes humidifier, and that is much better value in my view.

Works well so far; a 10L tank would work better.
This is an update after a week of non-stop use. So far so good, I hope it lasts.I have the humidifier installed in a small "equipment room" which has filter intakes as well. The same room has a trickle supply from the outside as well. The conditioned air is then distributed from the equipment room to the bedroom and the office. This prevents local humidity building up and eliminates the "steamy" odor (I think it's the plastic). The continuous air flow into the humidifier room is about 150 m3/hr. At this air flow, the humidifier essentially works non-stop, and I use about 3 tank changes per day (~10L per day). For that air flow, the unit is under-powered by at least two-fold (I may get another one). With the current outside temps (5-10C), the humidity of the conditioned air is maintained at 45% (w/o the humidifier it would be <30%). My asthma does get better with it. The unit shuts down once the tank is empty, and restarts as soon as one puts in a new tank. I like that the tank can be "hot-swapped" (no need to unplug the unit).Demineralized water is needed at about 100L per week with my setup. I would need to clean the unit weekly if I used tap water. Looking into getting my own demineralizer resin. Bulk raw resin might be cheaper than cartridges, need to investigate.
