I found out that the dish is traditionally cooked with the pits in, so I put the rest of them in whole. The dish was successful in many ways, but it was disappointing that I was unable to prepare it the way we wanted it. So, it you just want this as a snack, or will cut them up anyway, or if you will cook them with their pits, by all means go for these, they are good.
