Seagate ST6000VN0033 Iron Wolf Multimedia Server Storage 6TB Internal Hard Drive 3.5" - SATA

I'm very, very skeptical when it comes to ordering Hard Disks online and having their faith in hands of careless shipping services, especially when you don't see how it is packed. Lucky me for considering only review here and making sure I'm purchasing straight from amazon. Drive comes OEM sealed in static shielding bag from manufacture ensuring there was no tamper with the disk. Placed in plastic bumpers on both edges to ensure minimal play in a cardboard box.Drive is in raid 1 and reads perfectly healthy just like 1st drive purchased and picked up locally. Temperatures are also on pair. Further experience with seagate ironwolf may bring me back with updates to this product. So far so good, with 1st drive being on for over a month with out single shut off of my Qnap TS-453Be.UPDATE: Nearing Year of constant power-on with zero power fails, the drive works flawlessly! KNOCK-ON-WOOD!Yes, I would recommend these drives! Little on the loud side, but then which drives in RAID arrays in cheaper NAS enclosures wouldnt be audible when accessed? Very happy with their snappy and cool performance!

Worked great on my RAID array, easy swap in and should outlive my older WD red drives which seem to be dying by the handful now at 3 years old.

As confirmed directly with Seagate support, both the drives I purchased have 0 warranty. Their advice was to return the drives, and told me that Amazon is in fact an authorized reseller, and one should only purchase directly only if "sold by Amazon".

Good upgrade from desktop hard drive.

Apps using this as a media drive started to freeze intermittently. Looking at the SMART data it has 280 reallocated sectors! So many sectors going bad is uncommon. It also shows a high g-shock number but the drive was installed in a non-portable media center with shock mounts.So, it indicates some electro-mechanical problem with the drive that is resulting in internal vibrations resulting in platter damage.Am sending it for warranty replacement. Finding another huge drive to save the data is a pain.Will see if Seagate will do the right thing since the SMART test will still pass with reallocated sectors but the drive will eventually fail soon and so cannot be trusted to store data until it fails. Even if they send a replacement, that is only warranted for the remaining one year.So, not a satisfactory experience. The previous barracuda died just after warranty.I don't think I can trust Seagate for higher speed or high density platters. And this is supposed to be one of the better ones.Will update with any relevant information from the warranty handling process.PS: The previous listing from Adorama for the same model has been deleted and this is a new listing so it won't show as purchased for me. I wonder why they did that.

I've been using these in a NAS for about 3 years with 99% uptime. They never spin down unless there is a long power outage and the UPS shuts it down. I'm on Amazon to buy a couple more and thought I would add my recommendation to the list. I also have a VN0041 and have had no problems.

I’m expecting this review to be rejected as it’s not painting Amazon in a good light, but as there’s no way to complain I will continue to submit until I get a response, for as long as it takes!I’ve been using Ironwolf drives for some time now and they’re proving to be reliable, much better reliability than the old Barracuda drives from Seagate. My only issue is the clowns that package such a delicate piece of electronic hardware in a flimsy cardboard envelope. They’ll send out a pack of batteries in a two foot square box surrounded by air pillows, but risk damage to precision engineered mechanical hard drives in packaging that will happily fit through the letterbox only to go crashing to the floor doing all kinds of unseen damage (as the delivery driver has no indication as to how delicate the contents are...)No more hard drive orders from Amazon for me, the risk of damage is too great.

Seagate Ironwolf 6TB arrivati in un giorno e contenuti in un pacchetto di pluriball all’interno di una scatola. Sinceramente avrei preferito un miglior imballaggio ma non ho avuto alcun problema. Nessun strano rumore metallico in funzionamento ne errori trovati dal test S.M.A.R.T. del NAS. Preferiti ai WD Red per rpm e sistema di controllo vibrazioni anche se non consigliatissimi dalla rete. Facilissimi da inserire all’interno del NAS Synology, non sono silenziosissimi, si percepiscono bene in funzionamento. Primo passo ok, vediamo ora la durata di questi HD.
