LG Tone Ultra+ HBS-820S Wireless in-Ear Bluetooth Headset

We bought this as a replacement for my husband's earphones. They work great and are exactly what we needed. One feature I especially love (and wish I had on my own) is the function that turns on the speakers at the top. It is also beneficial to me because my husband no longer walks around with sound coming out of his phone...now he uses the headphones to listen to music. For me, I would always turn up the volume to have this feature and it is a lot better for the tech to have it as a function.

I have hypersensitive hearing and need readily accessible earplugs and these fit the bill for that. They also work great for listening to music at work and taking phone calls. The only problem I've had is sometimes people can't hear me on a call. I just raise it up my neck from my shoulders and people can hear me fine.They'd be even better if they could modify your ambient environment as well, but these are strictly a headset for your phone.

So disappointed with this item. Purchased what was described as new. Charged it once I received it. Paired it to my phone, and both of the earbuds work fine. Changed from Earbuds to external speakers, and only the right side works. If this was new, then its a poor product. If this is something other than new, change the listing, and whomever checks these things before you send them out needs to have a talking to. Works very well when it works.Good controls, good battery life. Clear sound. I like the pull-out ear plugs that roll up out of the way.BUT...Have had problems during workouts where couple of the controls seemed to be stuck or shorting out.Biggest problem at beginning was that it was auto-dialing last iphone call, repeatedly. I fiddled with the button over several days, and that no longer happens (for now).Next continuing occasional problem is that the volume button stops working. So then I have to take phone out of my pocket to adjust. Not terrible, but annoying. I think salty sweat is the problem.Final control issue is that there are similar control buttons on both sides of the device. Takes awhile to memorize them, and easy to wear the unit backwards, thus flipping all the controls to opposite side of neck. Took a few weeks to get this down.Update after a month:I sweat a lot during workours, and that seems to short out the device. Just stops working for awhile. Partially solved problem by using a thin dress nylon sock, with toe end sliced open, as a sweat absorbing collar. Rubber bands at each side hold it in place. Still conks out, but much less.Final problem, I hope, is that the left earpiece came apart. Will try to glue back together.Summary:Good: Nice controls, good battery life, works well when working.Bad: heavy sweat shorts it out; earpiece came apart

These must be a newer version from the garbage ones I had before. Microphone is great. I do not use the speakers on them, as I have a nice bluetooth speaker for that. The neck band is flexible, so unlike the latest version which has a head neck band, I'm pretty sure these won't snap in half in under a year. I have had no issues with the retractable ear buds, as long as you don't yank on them, the will be fine.

I'm not going to overreact in my evaluation like some do..but the product is not really usable for telephone calls. Universally, people complain about the sound quality of my calls. I'm an audio engineer, so I tested it by calling myself on the landline and listening....it's pretty tedious to listen to at best, and if the called party is on a 'poor' connection like an in-car bluetooth, I'm pretty much impossible to hear.Sound quality for music and other functions is acceptable....not a lot of bass, but what can one expect from small earbuds. It seems very well built, and the speakerphone function is nice for listening without having the earbuds in your ears. But, generally speaking, the unit is unusable for telephone calls. I'm sending them back and ordering something different.

I like the look and function of the headset enough to buy a second pair, after a year later when the left ear stopped working.

Just lost this pair, I miss them terribly! They worked very well, but it did take a while to learn what all the buttons did. I loved that they vibrated for incoming calls. But you can't wear them for running, jumping, mountain climber type exercise!
