Nice backpacking knife
Great value for a budget-conscious lightweight fixed blade knife. Decent blade steel (AUS-10) considering the price, and a functional sheath. Blade arrived nicely sharpened, standard good performance on copier paper test. Fit in sheath was too tight to start with, but after about 30 cycles and a little oil on the blade it is just right using an angled thumb push. The design of the sheath allows for lashing options if you prefer not to belt carry. Because of the sheath design and skeletonized handle (and lanyard hole) of the knife itself, it would also be easy to add a safety string/strap of some sort if you're worried about retention. The handle is comfortable enough (don't expect a miracle) for such a lightweight knife, and the bright green makes it easy to find in the field. The handle inset is a rubbery material that would be fairly easy to remove if you wanted to make the knife even lighter, or to add a custom handle material of some sort. Note that the rubber is molded around the two angled steel handle struts/joists, so you would likely ruin the original form/function of the inset if you decide to remove it (it doesn't just pop out easily) - I didn't peel hard enough on mine to confirm, but I think the struts/joists extend top to bottom rather than being of the "nub" variety, hard to tell without ruining the inset. And the weight.... only 2.5 ounces for the knife alone, and a total of 3.6 ounces with sheath. That's great for a fixed 4-inch blade that doesn't feel flimsy and has a very reasonable price tag.
