What destroys them are sudden jolts and vibration. I store/transport my lanterns in protective cases, always upright and where they cannot fall over, and resting on folded old towels to lessen travel vibration. If a mantle gets a hole replace it, as it will leak gas pressure and overheat. **Q: Are these for propane or kerosene?** A: most likely propane it fits the following models:coleman lantern 200,201,214,220,275,282,285,286,290,295,5107,5114,5151,5152,5153,5154,5155,5157,5159,5172,5178,9950,9960 **Q: Is it true that these mantles put out less light than a standard mantle, because of the size difference? If so, roughly how much less light?** A: We had two 2 mantle lanterns on a recent camping trip with the clip on type and they were plenty bright to light up the whole camp spot I didn't notice a difference from my old style lantern with tie string mantles. I think the problem for some people is they don't mount the mantels correctly. Hope this helps **Q: I have never seen these with the green plastic tab thing. What is the purpose of this tab? Is it an istallation aid?** A: thats exactly what it is, you put it on then the plastic tab thing is discarded. ## Frequently Bought Together - Coleman InstaClip Lantern Mantles, 2-Pack of #21 Lantern Mantles for Fueled Lanterns, Change Mantles in Seconds with Clip Attachment - Coleman Lantern Parts Replacement Globe - Coleman String Tie Lantern Mantles, 4-Pack of Coleman Lantern Mantles for Fueled Lanterns --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sc/products/5990776-coleman-instaclip-lantern-mantles-2-pack-of-21-lantern-mantles](https://www.desertcart.sc/products/5990776-coleman-instaclip-lantern-mantles-2-pack-of-21-lantern-mantles) --- *Product available on Desertcart Seychelles* *Store origin: SC* *Last updated: 2026-11-01*
