Good product BUT...
The product is great, however phone feature doesn't work for my car. It's not mentioned anywhere except in the troubleshooting document. The compatibility table is misleading... (My Car: Mercedes CLK500 2006 with Comand APS - End/Send button).Read carefully the troubleshooting document..

Horrible Documentation...but works (sort of)
The good news is that the unit works (tested with Porsche PCM). The bad news is that the software is buggy and the documentation is nearly non-existent. Updating to the latest firmware added an annoying bug where it tells you every time you start up that "CD Changer is not present".The interface for browsing albums and artists is clunky, and seems inferior to that of the old version (Gateway 500 non-S).The bright points are that (1) the sound quality is very good. (2) bluetooth phone seems to work pretty well. (3) USB drive works better than the iPod since it is faster, and cheaper. One thing to keep in mind is that the cables used to install the unit are too short to go from the trunk to the interior. It is necessary to buy Mini DIN 9-pin extensions and a USB extension. You can find the Mini DIN 9 extension at StockCable.com (they don't sell them on Amazon).I recommend you install this thing in the trunk, and not in a location where you have to remove the head unit every time you want to inspect the Dension. Otherwise, you are going to go crazy.UPDATE: Dension has repeatedly failed to fix their garbage firmware. The bugs they promised to fix have remained, and in fact, have only gotten worse. My bypass mode now doesn't work. Sometimes when I startup the car, the entire stereo system doesn't work (even the FM radio).

Installation was easy and unit works great
I have an 2005 Porsche Cayenne that I've wanted to use with my iPod for a very long time, but wasn't sure how to get it installed. My car has the PCM 2.1 DVD navigation unit. There are a few different parts to the installation instructions for different scenarios including no CD changer enabled, enabled but not installed, or CD changer installed. Anyways mine was enabled but not installed so I followed the instructions for that. I connected the fiber optical connect to the car and the other side to the unit as per the instructions. Then I spliced and connected the live and ground wires to a 12V lighter socket to power the unit. I secured the unit to my car with cable ties and some double-sided tape, and connected by iPod touch. All done in about 15 minutes or so after spending a few minutes going over the instructions so I didn't have to read it step-by-step. I imagine if you don't have the necessary tools or parts (like wire splicers) you would need more time to get the ride things. After installation, I rebooted the PCM unit (pressing 1,4,8 together) and the device with my iPod was recognized immediately. This unit as Bluetooth built-in. As I wired the unit to the back of my vehicle I did not install the microphone to use with my phone. I did not have any range issues and was able to pair my iPhone to the device without any hiccups and play music from there. There is no text displayed when using Bluetooth and I could not use the car to make calls obviously without a mic.In terms of using the wired iPod interface, the user instructions were very clearly written for a few different vehicles including Audi's MMI, BMW's iDrive, Mercedes' COMMAND, and the Porsche's PCM. I followed the PCM instructions on how to pick songs, albums, artists, etc. and it all works perfectly. Although I have about 12000 songs on my iPod and it's a bit tedious going through every song, there is a search option which works. I was able to pick the artist and then the album I wanted to listen to. I could shuffle as well. Sound quality is very good, though obviously not as good as a CD due to the compressed files in the iPod.Overall I am very impressed with this product.(I understand from the instructions for some people it's not plug and play. If the unit powers on, but car still says you do not have a CD changer, it means you need to take it to your local dealership and have the CD changer option enabled.)

Need better specific directions
I bought this unit to connect my SiriusXM Onyx Plus to my 2006 Volvo XC90 (with 6 disc changer) AUX OUT to AUX IN. So far no luck. Thanks to YouTube I found a video with fair directions and the disassembly and rewiring went very well. Now I'm looking at a Volvo audio system with menu modes that give no clue how to get Volvo to recognize AUX IN and play Sirius music. Somewhere I read go to disc 1 or 6. That didn't work. Troubleshooting: yes I have Sirius music coming out of the mini jack connected to Sirius AUDIO. This unit is expensive. Telling me to pay more money for a "pro" doesn't hack it when I just need simple directions on how to make the Volvo interface. So for now it's one star.

but have done aftermarket phone connects on other brands with much better results.
Having issues with the unit. Will work for 20-25 minutes, then cuts out for a few seconds. Had written the company who said to do a update. Still issues, since I paid so much for the unit and install, I am stuck with hoping it works. Also, the phone connection is weak, lots of static. Unknown of the other brands would have the same issue in Porsches, but have done aftermarket phone connects on other brands with much better results.

I'd give this product 5 stars if not for the complex installation process. Seriously a pain in the a**. BUT, when all is said and done, if you can get it done right, it's incredible. Totally worth the effort.

Buggy - not ready for prime time.
The installation is a bit of a pain. It requires a firmware update for blue tooth audio streaming to work. Even with update is is very buggy when with respect to Blue tooth audio streaming, and phone connectivity. This is not ready for prime time.
