These mirrors are great quality and much better than the coated plastic mirrors sold in many outdoor shops like REI. I don't recommend the 3 X 5 inch size. the 2 X 3 inch is smaller, lighter and all that you need. Highly recommended!!! **Q: is this the real deal with red aiming dot, or a POS with an impoosible to see "bright spot"?** A: Thanks for your question! This is the real thing, made in the US. It conforms to the specification and certificates of conformance are available upon request. It has the retroreflective aiming grid that produces the "fireball" effect. **Q: Can it survive diving in salt water?** A: It certainly would seem to. It is a real glass mirror. Just be careful of impacts and drops! Salt or salt water may do some minor damage if it got between the reflective coating and the mirror backing case die to abrasion. but it should hold up well if it is rinsed after submersion. **Q: is this SI Howard made?** A: Mine was and had the correct NSN numbers ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Real Deal - Mark 3 - 2.1 oz for the 2x3 *by on Reviewed in the United States October 12, 2024* This is the real deal - from what I read (not from experience) this does seem military grade. It has a reflective grid in the center hole that helps you pinpoint where you are aiming, and the instructions on the back are really helpful. I believe this reflective grid is what makes this mirror Mark 3.Some people complain it is heavy. Ok, sure, for the size it feels heavy. But the 2x3 size is 2.1 oz (60 gr) - in my mind, totally acceptable. It is a real mirror, but well built and rugged. I will still wrap it in something useful.I am buying two more. I totally recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Real Deal *by on Reviewed in the United States October 16, 2020* This signaling mirror is the real deal. Well made and works well in the field. It's no wonder the military issues them to the troops. A little pricy but you get what you pay for and and this is well worth every penny. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ No complaints at all! *by on Reviewed in the United States September 25, 2020* I accidentally ordered the 3 X 5 inch mirror initially. It was too big for my liking so I arranged for a return. I ordered this, the 2 X 3 inch beauty. The quality is remarkable and, if I didn’t know better, I’d say it was made from bulletproof glass. What a beautiful product. Oh, and about the return, my 22 year-old son forbid me to return it. He loves it and it resides comfortably in his pack now. Thanks for a surprisingly great product! --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sc/products/60287349-mil-m-18371e-emergency-signal-mirror-mark-3-military-issue](https://www.desertcart.sc/products/60287349-mil-m-18371e-emergency-signal-mirror-mark-3-military-issue) --- *Product available on Desertcart Seychelles* *Store origin: SC* *Last updated: 2026-10-22*
