Update: They have stopped putting bluetooth in them altogether, and decided to do that BEFORE they changed all the adds, including their own website. So if you think you are buying one with bluetooth and a speaker, YOU ARE NOT. Additionally, since speed, sensitivity, and everything else is adjusted through the bluetooth app, NONE of the advertised features are actually available. Very disappointed in the purchase and am returning immediately. Attached is Customer Support Email response admitting that adds are still live that are not true.

The overall experience was fun and the hoverboard is durable. The only problem this hoverboard has is the bluetooth connection. When I turn it on and go to the bluetooth settings nothing pops up; eventhough there are speakers.

Update - This thing works great in the yard for my 60lb nephew. He flys around on it. I was a bit disappointed with its on grass performance I weigh 160 and it worked okay. But it worked great for the kids.I'm not going to take a star off for it not having blue tooth in speakers which a lot of people say it does in the Q and A. Its not advertised that it has it anymore. It goes "off road" better than the standard version but is harder to ride. It handles gravel okay and slightly higher bumps than the original. but in my yard its impossible to ride with all the bumps. If I wanted to spend more money on this I would have gotten a model with 10'' tires.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for 8 yro son. I can honestly say that all four of us love this hoverboard and would defiantly purchase again. Every kid that visits masters it in about 30 minutes. It took my husband and me a little longer. Bluetooth works great also.Update: 6/25/18 When we first charged it it worked fine. After about 8 weeks of use the green charge light stopped coming on. Then later it wouldn't charge and when it was plugged in you could hear the charge pulsing thru the speakers. I contacted gotrax and they said they will replace it but are no longer making them with bluetooth. I'm fine with that as long as it works. Will update when we receive the replacement. Great customer support. Fast reply through email.

These were a second hoverboard purchase after the first was a flop. They are built to last and much safer then the ones with the closed genders, in my opinion. With these, no pebbles from the road get stuck and they are an all around tough little gadget.

This was a Christmas gift for my son and he opened it on Christmas day. Excited to use it we charged it up and took it outside. And it didn't work - it would turn on but only get moving 20% of the time - and when it did move it was shaky. I spent all (Christmas) day troubleshooting it and finally quit and called the company later in the week. The guy immediately said it was messed up and I would have to send it back. They sent a return label so all I had to do is re-box it and ship it out.Then they contacted me and said I could not have a replacement because they weren't making this model anymore - I could have their other model. I was going to do that and was trying to figure out the price difference when they contacted me again and said that they were producing an updated model and they could ship that out in a few days. I have no idea how they could go from discontinued to new model ready to go in a few days but I went with it. Sounds like some shenanigans going on there.Customer service people were all pleasant but the whole company seems a little disorganized. The whole "galactic" shtick is cute online and in the manuals but annoying in business emails. Maybe dial it back a bit.After we worked out the model a new hover board just arrived one day. No notice, no email, no shipping notification.The second one worked just fine out of the box. It appears one of the lights is out on it but my kid refuses to let me call it in - as long as it moves he wants to ride it.It is the only hover board we have ever had so I don't have anything to compare it to. I'd say it is a pretty solid unit. My kid (12 y/o athletic boy) learned to ride it in a few minutes and was at top speed in 10. He likes it some much he has been out riding in and the temp is in the teens. I was able to ride it too (180 lbs) and found it pretty intuitive and fun to use.I will update this if we have any more problems. No update means it is still running strong.

The hoverfly xl was received broken and getting customer service has been impossible! I tried email and phone. I'm just out all that money. My son was heartbroken on his birthday.
