Retiring the old printer and replacing it with the new one on the HP Smart app was seamless and the nice surprise was that whilst the box advertised 3 months free instant ink, desertcart were offering an extra 2 months free (i.e 5 months) in actual fact during the set up process the app highlighted 6 months of free printing with more pages than I will ever need.. happy days! I have used Instant Ink for a number of years and have found it works well, it is possible to budget for the annual cost. Note that one way or another you are tied in to HP cartridges which is clearly highlighted on the box itself and was something I was aware of before I bought it, if you want to use 3rd party cartridges I would suggest looking for an alternative manufacturer or perhaps HP do some models without such a requirement?
