Just a little noisey. ### ⭐ Phantom double spaces when typing *by J***P on July 16, 2024* Hardware: 1/5 - extreme value but defective Customer service: 0/5 - more like customer disservice I originally held off on writing this review as I was waiting to hear back from someone higher up at Keychron regarding a solution I developed to their phantom keypress issue. I have purchased 5 keychron keyboards in the last month (3x V1 Max, Q12, Q1 Max) fitted with a combination of Gateron Jupiter Red/Brown/Banana and GPro Brown switches. They all have an issue where pressing the space bar sometimes results in two spacebar inputs instead of one. The Jupiter reds are the least problematic switches of the bunch, and the issue almost never happens. What makes this tragic, is that the phantom spacebar keypress is an issue is at the firmware level. It's not a hardware issue, at least for the 5 keyboard I've received. I spent an afternoon developing a fix which took all of two lines of code. From my conversations with support, in trying to discuss my solution with them, they don't seem to comprehend what I'm communicating. VIA support is tragic on the wireless models. You have to use Keychron's launcher as it simply does not work in VIA, regardless of following the obvious support steps (e.g updating firmware). QMK support for the wireless models would be a pain for the average user, as the firmware for these models is not even available on the main QMK branch. Super. Facepalm. Keychron produces a compelling product at an excellent price point. However, their quality control (if they even have such process) and customer support ruin the brand for me.
