Why is that?** A: It's the wrong item... **Q: Anybody has a problem opening the knife, my seem to take two hands ?** A: It is only safe to open with 2 hands. Otherwise, very good steel takes and holds an edge equal to my bench made. But 2 hands. Sorry **Q: the item depicted is the updated version. Is there assurance that this is the item that will be received?** A: Two things appear to be different than my SOG SlimJim (Purchased June 2015). First is the clip. Mine is a narrower width clip. The second detail I see is the lack of the small sliding device that prevents the back lock from being depressed. I think thats an OK update because ofter when I open this knife (It's an everyday carry), if the little sliding device is in the "lock" position I can't open the blade all the way until I fuss with the little slidey thing. I suppose it's a nice "safety" to keep the back lock disabled under heavy use but if this is the new design, so be it. Like I said, I carry this wonderful blade with me all the time. I don't worry about the blade, it sharpens up well, it's light and dependable. My blade has some nicks in it but the edge still comes back. I'm going to beat the snot out of this knife and then........ I'll buy another.PS: This is not a perfect knife. It might be close though. I suppose I'd know one if I met one. This knife has pinched me if I'm not aware of where my fat hand is in relation to the back of the blade when it tries to lock into position. Just a pinch though. If you are a blue collar guy or retired and wear jeans everyday I wouldn’t bother with this one. I have several SOGs and like them all. My favorites are the Trident and the Slim Jim. This is so light and thin you literally forget you’re carrying it. I wear it with slacks or shorts. Because it’s so light and thin it’s not as easy to flick open but that comes with the light weight! It’s wicked sharp and holds an edge. No I would use this one to pry and beat on but that’s not what it’s for. It’s for cutting and is certainly competent for self defense. When I wear jeans I carry a heavier knife like the Trident. It’s easier to flick open and is much thicker and easier to manipulate. Blade is thicker as well.
