Good wholesome family fun; this is the better of two available models
This is the better of the mini-foosball tables. We got the cheaper version in a gift exchange and it was a lot of fun; compact foosball with two rods with 3 men each per team for a total of 4 rods. It made for a lot of good, clean, quick fun the whole family could enjoy. But then our 2-year old cousin fell on the game and bent the rods; prompting me to purchase another mini-foosball table. This time, I wanted something with higher quality, and this ESPN foosball table is definitely an improvement. This table has slightly stronger rods (although they would still bend/break if someone sat on them), better attachment/alignment of the men, higher quality hard rubber handles (as opposed to poorly aligned plastic), a felt green playfield (which is better than the hard board of the other model which allows the ball to roll around too freely), and friction scoreboard (as opposed to loose sliding scoreboard which keeps losing the score). The nets at the end are a nice touch. They look nicer, but functionally are just as good as the box goals found on the other model. At the price point, it is good value for the the money; yet not so inexpensive that the parts are dysfunctionally cheap.I'm impressed with how much fun comes from this toy. Our family spontaneously challenges each other and plays quick games. Good wholesome fun. The extra few dollars spent to get this model over the cheaper one is worth the quality improvements.

Looks good, but was accidentally dangerous
On the positive side: The table arrived promptly from my seller and was visually nicer than the previous one we owned. On the negative side: The rods have a small black cap on the end of them, I suppose for safety. Well it wasn't safe enough! An adult was leaning their hand on the side of the table (palm facing down) and a child leaned their body on the opposite handled side sliding the "capped" side into the palm of the adult. The safety cap slipped into the center of the rod and the rod was rough edge was sharp enough to punctured the palm of the adult and sever 2 ligaments requiring surgery! I understand that these are probably machine cut, but there has to be a way to ensure better safety, perhaps with a different capping mechanism.

My 6yr old just loves it but, 1 of the plastic goals won't stay on, plastic studs that keep players in place on rod Pop off couple players, Regardless - our kids love it and this has been the MOST used Christmas gift of all... Full size table will be on Santa's list next year!

Good foosball tabletop
Good foosball tabletop, however, a little girl walked away with our soccer balls and we have been unable to replace the foosballs. I have tried Regent Halex and the 12-pack by Brybelly. They are both too big. Help!!!

This product is dangerous!
This product is dangerous! Do not buy it! The hollow metal rods have extremely sharp edges on both ends; one end is protected by handles that the players use to move the rods. The other end, however, is protected only by a small black foam cap, which is easily dislodged, exposing the sharp metal, capable of inflicting bleeding wounds (my son and I both cut our hands). With enough force, a rod could cause serious harm. We dealt with the problem by inserting plastic screw anchors into the openings and affixing them with hot glue. It is shameful that this product is even on the market, especially since it is ESPN branded! It should be recalled.

The elementary school kids love it!
There are a lot of tabletop foosball games out there. I chose this one as a replacement for one that fell apart. This ESPN game is much sturdier than any of the others I've seen. We use it in an after-school program at the elementary school, so finding one to withstand the enthusiasm of 5- to 12-year old children was a must. So far, this game has come through with flying colors, and I expect that it will continue to do so.
