Honeywell Evo control, easier and simpler to use with Nest/Hive
Bought these to replace, cheap TRV plastic valves which didn't work very well. These are superb, and fitted on the (cheapo copy Danfoss TRV rad valves which we kept). We use these to individually control the rooms, over and above the heating controlled centrally by our Nest system. We discovered that Nest is fantastic, but you end up heading parts of the house when you don't need it, so adding these into our system is a really easy way to add granular control. The app is ok, no great, but in a few minutes, you can configure your house to give you zoned, temperature control.Fitting is really easy, took about 45 minutes for 10 rads, and the app or the TRV are really easy to use and setup.Really impressed, home control, workout having to go to far over the top, (and we have a very automated home), get Honeywell Home Evo control, at a fraction of the cost.Downsides? OK, you can't remotely control it, but when combined with Hive or Nest you can. Decide which rings actually need schedule's and which dont, and your problem are all solved.(we don't have a schedule in the room where the nest thermostat is, just a maximum temperature, bedrooms have both schedules and temperature limits, as an example)

Repeated Bluetooth pairing issues
I have a Hive central heating system, but decided not to get the Hive TRV due to the poor reviews. I know Danfoss of old, being an ex Instrumentation Engineer, so decided to give it a try. Installation was easy, although the instructions are poor to say the least. Once the App is downloaded it is relatively simple to pair the device. The disappointing thing is that once you leave the room and later return, i have to unpair and pair the device all over again to get it to communicate with my phone. I have tried it with both of my phones, a Samsung and an Iphone 11 and have the same problem with both. I cannot comment on how well the TRV performs at this early stage and will comment further when i have put it through its paces.

Why all the negative reviews?
I honestly don’t understand all the negative reviews for this product! I’ve read people complaining that it took 15 minutes and not 3 minutes to install the thermostat, or that they couldn’t understand the manual telling them which adapter to use. I guess people are very impatient, or clueless, but I don’t think any of these comments can be seen as serious criticisms for this product.Personally I have been quiet satisfied with the thermostat, it was easy to install, it is very accurate at measuring the temperature in the room, very quiet, and the app while not extremely quick, works just fine. I can usually connect to the thermostat within 10 seconds if I am close to it, but I can even connect to it within 20 seconds from the other side of the house, which I was not expecting. All in all I think this is a nice introduction to a smart heating solution. I personally also think that the potential loss in convenience from it being Bluetooth rather than WiFi is worth it, because it makes it much less prone to any sort of disturbance/hacking.
