The speed control is great, being able to turn it down when my son was driving and turning it back up when I got a turn was very helpful. It doesnt turn very well going forward. That is why it only gets 4 stars. We ended up having to go in reverse to turn then we could go in straight lines, but it was such a slow turn going forward that we couldn't make a loop in a large pond over 215ft in diameter. It has a lot of speed going in a straight line. Unfortunately because it doesnt turn it only gets 4 stars.
