Trying to stop sewer odor between down spout and 4" sch 40** A: You can use caulk to seal this. Use a thick wide bead and you should be able to "unstink" your fitting. Mark **Q: will this work for a 3 inch drain pipe** A: It could depending on how you configure the connection and how tight you want the fit to be. A 3" pipe would fit INSIDE the connector with lots of room to spare, so if you are "on a downhill run" it might be just fine.
