Featuring an advanced electrochemical sensor, it provides accurate detection of carbon monoxide levels, alerting you with a loud 85 dB alarm. The device allows for interlinking with up to 12 other alarms, ensuring comprehensive coverage throughout your home. With a user-friendly test/reset button and a 5-year guarantee, this detector is designed for reliability and peace of mind. ## Description From the manufacturer Smoke Alarms Place fire alarms at least 3 metres (10ft) from kitchen/stove, and on the ceiling or high on a wall, no more than 25 cm (10in) from the top. Carbon Monoxide Alarms Carbon monoxide (CO) alarms can be placed anywhere, not just the ceiling or high on a wall. They should be replaced every 5 to 7 years. Heat Alarms Heat alarms are ideal for areas where smoke alarms aren’t suitable such as those with high humidity, dusty environments or areas where non-dangerous smoke is generated like kitchens, garages or lofts. Review: Like for like - Fitted like for like from the old model, fantastic and easy to install Review: Quick and easy replacement of an existing soon to expire alarm - My new-built house had a version of this product without the built-in battery installed when I bought it. The sticker on it advised it needs to be replaced after five years, and with the fifth year anniversary approaching I bought this to replace it. I assumed - correctly - that it would be trivial to swap the units and opted for the model with the built-in rechargeable battery as it's zero maintenance and will also work during power cuts. The alarm comes in two parts, a base you install and wire on the ceiling (that must be done by a qualified electrician), and the actual unit that just plugs in to it and is secured by two tiny screws. Since the base is identical to the one I had already I just had to pull out the old one and pop in the new one, which took less than a minute. A quick test with a CO alarm tester spray verified it worked so very happy with the purchase. The new one has a sticker advising to replace it in six years instead of five, so I'm assuming there have been improvements in the product to extend the lifespan. I hope I'll still be able to buy an identical one in 6 years time! UPDATE: Dropping from 5 to 1 stars as after 17 months it seems to have failed. It started beeping every once every 50 seconds with no other lights turning on. Consulting the manual it says that one beep every minute with a flash of the yellow led means battery low, which is unlikely as this is mains powered and uses the battery as a backup only. Confirmed that the yellow led doesn't flash, unplugged/plugged in again and pressed the test button and it passes self tests but the yellow light doesn't flash during them which according to the manual it should. Very disappointed that it failed so soon at this price. ## Features - Carbon monoxide alarm alerts you to elevated carbon monoxide levels in the home - Electrochemical sensor accurately detects carbon monoxide and alerts you with a loud 85 dB alarm - Instant test/reset button quickly silences false alarms; features power, alarm and fault LCD indicators - Multi-alarm interlink system allows you to connect up to 12 mains smoke, CO2 and heat alarms for simultaneous warning - 230 V primary mains power CO2 alarm with rechargeable lithium battery back-up; backed by 5-year guarantee; measures 134 mm (H) x 69 mm (W) x 60 mm (D) - 5-year guarantee BS EN 50291-1: 2010 ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00E5BMSPU | | Alarm | Audible | | Brand | BRK | | Customer Reviews | 3.4 out of 5 stars 44 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00029054019936 | | Included Components | 1 x CO850MRLI | | Item Type Name | Carbon Monoxide Detector | | Manufacturer | BRK | | Model Number | CO850MRLI | | Part Number | CO850MRLI | | Power source | Battery Powered | | Sensor Type | Electrochemical | | Sensor type | Electrochemical | | UPC | 029054019936 | | Unit Count | 1.0 count | | Unit count | 1.0 count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** BRK - **Power source:** Battery Powered - **Alarm:** Audible - **Sensor type:** Electrochemical - **Global Trade Identification Number:** 00029054019936 - **Manufacturer:** BRK - **UPC:** 029054019936 ## Images ![BRK CO850MRLi Carbon Monoxide Detector, Mains Powered with Rechargeable Battery Backup - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61-04wiSSdL.jpg) ![BRK CO850MRLi Carbon Monoxide Detector, Mains Powered with Rechargeable Battery Backup - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71+bYpPWGRL.jpg) ![BRK CO850MRLi Carbon Monoxide Detector, Mains Powered with Rechargeable Battery Backup - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61xE+bLL+hL.jpg) ![BRK CO850MRLi Carbon Monoxide Detector, Mains Powered with Rechargeable Battery Backup - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61VF4yVZxML.jpg) ![BRK CO850MRLi Carbon Monoxide Detector, Mains Powered with Rechargeable Battery Backup - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61baCuvejOL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Is thus a direct replacement for the brk co850mrli carbon monoxide detector** A: Yes, takes max 10 min to unscrew 2 screws and replace the old one. Just need to allow around 4-5h for every minute beep while battery is charging. **Q: This looks like the Deta 1211 which was installed in to my newbuild. Would this fit the same base as the Deta?** A: Why would you want to fit a different unit from a different base ? The unit comes with its own base and it is required to use that . ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Like for like *by C***. on 4 January 2020* Fitted like for like from the old model, fantastic and easy to install ### ⭐ Quick and easy replacement of an existing soon to expire alarm *by K***N on 31 August 2018* My new-built house had a version of this product without the built-in battery installed when I bought it.
