Best backpack ever!
I love this backpack! It is durable, has lots of pockets which I love, and different straps for carrying it multiple ways. It is also portable, water resistance, versatile, and made from recycled material.

In love with my traveling office!
2024 UPDATE: Still using the Soleil with no problems. Some of the fake leather came odd the grab handles and the bag fabric is a bit slack & baggy from wear. That is literally the only deterioration over 8 years.FURTHER UPDATE: Sherpani sent me a gift certificate for a new backpack (like this: https://www.amazon.com/Sherpani-Womens-Soleil-Backpack-Forest/dp/B07GR2PLJF/ref=lp_2210531011_1_3?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1566799814&sr=1-3&nodeID=2210531011&psd=1) and this one continues the tradition of looking good and being awesome. I'm now carrying a laptop, a keyboard, TWO mice, a mouse pad, a bag of small peripherals, and a makeup bag, and they all just disappear inside without distorting the clean shape at all. I still wish for more zip pockets inside, but am consoled by the elastic end pockets both inside & outside. Plus the two outside zip pockets.17 MONTHS LATER: a piece of hardware broke, making a backpack strap unusable. Sherpani customer service are checking to see if buying it from amazon means I am or am not within the warranty. I am a bit grumpy but still using daily. If I had to carry my laptop this month though I'd be pretty mad.ONE YEAR LATER: I continue to love this thing passionately, have used it daily since my last review, and it's still in great shape. I've washed it three times so far. Last weekend, I took it for a hike & then leaned it--this white fabric bag--up into the wheelwell of my husband's car. What can I say, it seemed like a good idea at the time? Anyway, I took it home, emptied it, scrubbed at the stains with a laundry stain remover, and ran it through the delicates cycle. Stain came out. Today I took it to the park & a child got her chocolatey hands on the outside while helping me get my iphone out. Scrubbed it with a wet washcloth, and whaddayaknow? Stains came out.None of the seams have given out, none of the zip tags have come off, all the zippers still run really well, and the webbing hasn't frayed. The fabric looks new. The ONLY, ONLY thing I would change is maybe throw in a few inner wall zip pockets. Or just put zips on the ones that are already there--I've had to stuff it with pouches for all my junk. But maybe they ran out of unobtainium? Who can say?----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I've had this bag for 3 weeks and I'm nuts about it. Let's get this off the table first: yes, it's expensive. HOWEVER. It is so well made! The short handles are webbing. The long strap is webbing, and the adjustable buckle doesn't slide. The long strap also can't twist, it has spinning attachment points. The zip tabs are sturdy. The backpack straps are adjustable and nicely padded, and they tuck away neatly into their own pocket, which closes magnetically and also holds my house keys + a grocery bag. There are small open exterior pockets at each end (not quite comfortable for a bottle; good for glasses though) and two zip pockets on the opposite side, one perfect for a small cosmetics bag/accessories, another for keys or keycard/subway ticket. The interior has multiple pockets (wallet/checkbook/tissues) and a padded open compartment that is just big enough for my HP. I can also just barely fit in my computer charger and a large trackball.I like a little more organization, so I also got this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004WMW8NE/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1for the inside, and it holds tampons, iphone charger, fitbit charger, headset, hair doodads, pens, and notebook. The white fabric does show stains, but wipes clean easily, and the black fabric doesn't have any problems so far from being set down in various grungy places. The inside fabric is a lovely glossy neutral stripe. Lastly, one side of the bag will zip open to allow the whole thing to fit over a suitcase handle.I've haven't let go of this thing since I moved my stuff into it. They may have to bury me with it.

Best Travel Bag
I purchased this backpack as a back up as I loved the color and the price was right. This bag was perfect for my carry on as well as using it around the ports on my cruise. I am going to use this bag for work to carry in my laptop. I love all the compartments and the various ways you can wear this bag.

Settled on Version 2 and returned Version 1
Since I couldn’t find any Sherpani Camden bags locally, I ordered the V1 & the V2 ( couldn’t really find any detailed info online). I hope this review helps:V1 - nice bag. About 2 inches shorter than the newer version (16 inches). It seems to fit most airline specs for a personal item perfectly. I got the chrome and liked the color. It has two zippers on the front but they’re super small and shallow. I could only fit my phone in each without space for anything else. There’s a stuff middle pocket that runs the length of the bag that closes with magnets. You can shove the front tote handle in there or a light jacket. There’s a large main compartment with a tiny zipper pocket inside. Behind (near the straps) is the second stuff pocket. You can disconnect the straps and shove it in there. There is no closure for this pocket. The water bottle pockets on each side are pretty tight and short. It tightly fits a 24oz Hydroflask (skinny) and the bottle won’t slide out. I returned the bag. My main complaint is that the pockets needed zippers. If I plan to put this under a seat, I don’t want stuff falling out. Also the two pockets in the front that do have zippers aren’t deep enough. I want a nice zippered pocket to shove the contents of my pants and hands into while in the security line at the airport.V2 - I chose this bag over the V1. It’s 18 inches, so about 2 inches longer than most personal item requirements. I’m just hoping that if I don’t stuff it, I can easily squish it down to fit under the seat without being stopped by a gate agents. Material is nice. I got the Raven. Most importantly it has the zippered pockets I need. There is one obvious front pocket that has alot of space. It can definitely fit a phone, wallet, and keys while you go through security. The second pocket is even deeper and runs the length of most of the bag. It’s kind of hidden since the zipper is recessed behind the front tote strap. There is another deeper zippered pocket behind, it’s designed with loops for pens and pockets for gadgets. The main compartment is very spacious and also has a full length zippered mesh pocket. The feature I love the most is another much smaller zipper pocket on top of the bag with a softer lining. This would probably be where my phone and wallet will go. The backpack straps are very different. They no longer have the option to detach and there is no pocket to stuff them. I believe the idea is to extend and slip them in the luggage strap to put them away. It does come with a sternum strap for heavy loads. Also the tote strap near the back is much smaller than the V1. You cannot slip this as a tote on your shoulder. The water pockets are deeper and have more elastic. The V2 also has a solid base than the 1. This allows it to sit upright without much in it. Seems to hold its shape well but isn’t rigid so you can squish it down to fit specs.Overall I think the V2 is a vast improvement from the V1 as a travel bag. However, for an around the town, occasional backpack/ tote, the V1 is a great choice. I plan on using the V2 on a plane so I like the security of zippers and the convenience of strategically placed pockets. I like how the V2 still has three ways to carry but it’s not really a tote in the real sense. It has 1 normal backpack handle and 1 longer companion handle. It does make it easy to carry but it can’t be worn over the shoulder. If you’re after a tote, get the V1. The V2 is a backpack with options and I prefer that. This was long but I hope this helps explain the differences of the two versions.

High quality, versatile, durable, and excellent customer service.
I LOVED this backpack during a trip to Peru. It's practical as well as good looking. Love their commitment to the environment. It did however, have a slight flaw which I communicated to Sherpani and they immediately resolved the issue. I highly recommend this product and the company!!

Amazing bag for a carry on while travelling!
I travel for work and have started using this bag in the black color as a laptop/carry on bag. I love the removable/convertible straps - they detach easily and are very secure. There are so many useful pockets and the bag fits more than I expected! It fits my 15" laptop very easily. I have already received multiple compliments on this bag and will recommend it to all my friends and colleagues looking for a carry on bag. Planning to keep this for a long time - it's perfect!
