Review: The perfect reading lamp - I absolutely love this lamp. First off it fits together in less than 2 minutes, you don't need to look at the 'manual'. It's what I would call 'idiot proof'. Okay, that out of the way I am an avid reader. I like little more than staying up to the early hours in a fairly dim room with a good book. It's an 'ultimate cosiness' for me. But the lighting has always been a problem. normal lights are too bright. Standard LED's give out a harsh 'blue light' that is not comfortable over more than an hour. This however, [although still LED based] is different. I have only done the 'soft light' setting, which is absolutely perfect for reading into the night. It gives a lovely, gentle almost sepia glow that makes the pages of a book appear almost like old fashioned parchment, that slightly yellowy warm 'vellum'. Gentle and yet perfect on the eyes. The lamp head is flexible creating the perfect 'over the shoulder' angle for such light to hit directly onto the page while the rest of the room is in darkness. It is not so bright that anyone else trying to sleep in the same room would be kept awake by it either. It is not particularly tall, but easily tall enough to be behind the reading chair with plenty of clearance with the flexible head allowing that perfect 'over the shoulder to the page' angle. For the first time i a long time I managed to read through the night without my eyes becoming remotely sore. I completely lost track of time [the only reason I read through the whole night] and was quite surprised when I realised daylight was beginning to creep through the curtains! At the price it is an absolute bargain. It can be used at full height [the 'stand has a base but then three equal screw in lengths to adjust the height] or even as a table top desk light and it only takes a minute to adjust. All of the wiring is on the 'outside' and only attached at the flexible neck part so you can change the height etc at will. I did not go for the remote control version as frankly I have too many remotes in the house and am fed up with trying to turn the telly on with the Missuses vibration plate remote or the music system remote etc haha! The ONLY drawback is the base plate is really not very sturdy. It is quite small and could be prone to tipping easily. but not really an issue for me as the 'reading chair' is in the corner and this light is ensconced behind the chair to there is nowhere for it to tip too! I'm seriously considering buying several more and putting one in every room in the house! Even the 'mini-library [kharsi] for a Sunday morning paper read! he he! All in all a great buy and absolute value for money. I would highly recommend getting one if you are an avid reader. Old fashioned 'soft light' that doesn't hurt the eyes after a couple of hours? YES YES YES!!
Review: Nice lamp - This is a nice lamp. It is pretty bright and it has different types of light and fact you can dim it is really handy. My only slight criticism is the base could be a bit heavier we have it standing on carpet and a couple of times it has started to fall over. This of course may well not be design of lamp but our floor could be uneven. I would certainly recommend it though good value for money and does what we wanted it to do.

I absolutely love this lamp. First off it fits together in less than 2 minutes, you don't need to look at the 'manual'. It's what I would call 'idiot proof'. Okay, that out of the way I am an avid reader. I like little more than staying up to the early hours in a fairly dim room with a good book. It's an 'ultimate cosiness' for me. But the lighting has always been a problem. normal lights are too bright. Standard LED's give out a harsh 'blue light' that is not comfortable over more than an hour. This is a nice lamp. It is pretty bright and it has different types of light and fact you can dim it is really handy. My only slight criticism is the base could be a bit heavier we have it standing on carpet and a couple of times it has started to fall over. Great lamp, I have put it near my bedside and I love the 3 different settings. Gives me adequate light for bed reading. Love to put it on warm light when falling asleep. The head is a bit heavy so it needs adjuating so the lamp doesnt fall down, but once adjusted it gives a lot of light. Recommend it.
