Most condenser microphones require some small amount of external power. It was easy to solder up. As others stated the speakers come with a four pin (I believe jst) connector and the header pins are for the DuPont style. In other words they don’t plug in. No big deal, I just put some DuPont terminals on. I was planning on shortening the wires anyways. My only complaint is there was a ton of static. I mean it was unbearable. I just wired it up to test it out and maybe it will be better once I get the finished project assembled. However I did have an aux cable filter laying around so I just threw that on for now. It completely got rid of the static, so if you have this issue I recommend picking one up. On a side note, and possibly the source of the static, I am powering the pi through the GPIO with a 5v 8amp PSU. This particular PSU is probably the source of the static, though it could be the cheap aux included. The included aux does seem to be on the lighter side as far as insulation goes. All in all, you can’t beat the price for a project like this. It definitely puts out some volume.
