I did end up buying a beach umbrella screw extension for like $5 and it worked great. I love the color and it’s super easy to set up. I still can’t quite figure out the wind shade because the instructions are somewhat unclear. It doesn’t block wind at all but it provides extra shade when the sun starts going at an angle.
