It is. And it works like a charm! **Q: Trying to decide this 441 or the 440 for voice and podcasting** A: It depends on what you need it for.. If only for podcasting and voice then the 440 is all you should need. I have both and love both. The 440 is about 4db more sesitive/hotter than the 441.. but that's only a matter of setting the gain higher on the 441 to match the 440. They are very close in sound signature. The 441 is a multipattern mic., so it can do more than the 440, things like doing an interview with someone sittng across from you (figure 8 setting), or, playing an instrument and capturing the room as well (omni setting), and much more.. Interestingly, I found the 441 in the super carioid position to sound almost identical to the 440 on acoustic guitar.
