I tan outside vs in a tanning bed, so it takes more time to develop a tan. I tried this lotion after I had a good base tan. The tingle/warming is very mild and somewhat enjoyable. Before I put it on my entire body, I did test it in an area under my arm a few hours ahead of time. It helped me continue my tan and I am very happy with the results. The scent is also great and very mild, which I think is great. I stayed outside for over an hour changing positions and never burned (no sunscreen).
