Review: Great upgrade from Ender3 v2 - prints very well - much less fuss - some things not as expected - First off: Prints great right out of the box. Prints fast. Great for the price. So far we are very glad we chose this printer to supplement our Ender 3. Manufacturer responds very well to product questions. Creality slicer has a lot of tunable settings and has a good set of built in calibration tests with tutorial. We have been using this printer for about 3 weeks. Things to know: The magnetically attached build plate has a wiper pad and alignment notches. Both great features, however this may limit your build plate options. Creality support can help if you have questions in regards to this. You pretty much HAVE TO USE GLUE STICK (this requirement is plainly printed on the build plate and.... they give you a glue stick). What they do not tell you is that you need glue as a "release" agent. Without glue, if you decide to cancel a print early and there are just a few layers on the bed, you will not be able to remove it from the build plate any easy way that we have found. Glue hint: If you need a nice surface on the bottom of the print, clean bed and use fresh glue application, and then clean the glue residue off of the bottom of the print. Otherwise you will see patterns from previous prints on the bottom surface. When you send a print, you have the option to bypass calibration. Do not bypass calibration, especially for the first print any time after the printer has been powered off. The control panel in this printer only provides essential functions. The Creality slicer is where all of the stuff is. desertcart site product descriptions for our exact item were not entirely accurate: Sadly... the really cool segmented articulated cable guide shown in one of the slides is not a real thing. Also there is text in one of the slides that indicates easy nozzle change. The manufacturer has an official video where the model is like the one we received. Search for: "Service Tutorial K1 SE Replacement Nozzle" which covers both of the above so you will know more about what to expect. Part of the greatness of our Creality Ender 3 is its almost primitive diy approach with custom firmware and a really complicated control panel and custom firmware and tons of upgrade options and knob tweaking and the fun of messing with stuff. You could totally take it apart and put it back together an not be nervous about it. In comparison: The K1 SE seems like something best meant to be used "as is", with Creality slicer and firmware. You can still mess with stuff, but that would be mostly through the Creality slicer. I think it is still "open source" as advertised, but you would have to be careful as this is a much more complex machine than something like the Ender 3.
Review: Fast Quality Prints out of Box - Very well packaged and assembly was straight forward. The box appeared to take a bit of a tumble but plenty of rigid foam inside so nothing was damaged. Coming from an ender-5, print quality straight out of the box is great. I wouldn't say its quiet, much quieter than the ender-5 but it can be heard if you are, say, in another room. Included a 500g roll of Creality Hyper PLA, also have used Elegoo Rapid PETG using the presets for Creality Hyper PETG and that also works great. No bed adhesion issues at all, there is a glue stick included but have not had to use it. The tool kit is quite nice and the included flush cutters are way nicer than the pair that was included with my ender-5. Included a spare hot end and what I assume are some spare parts as well, but there is no mention of what any of them are in any of the included documentation. The included spool of Hyper PLA had several tangles in it and I had a few prints fail because of that. Creality slicer software is a little rough around the edges. Lots of settings for tweaking and seems to work well overall if you just want to load an STL, slice it, and print it. The overall design of the interface can be a little busy and its not abundantly clear what everything does. Most settings have little popups to help explain what they do, but they are often not very detailed or have grammatical errors.

## Features

### ⭐ The happiest day was when I packed it up and sent it back!
*by A***D on May 22, 2026*

I genuinely tried to give the Creality K2 Plus a fair shot because on paper this thing should’ve been incredible. Large format, enclosed, fast, multi-color capable — it LOOKS like Creality finally made a serious flagship printer. Instead, this has been one of the most frustrating and unreliable machines I’ve ever owned. And this wasn’t after months of abuse… this was by the SEVENTH PRINT. Issues started almost immediately: • One of the front glass door hinges literally separated from the glass because the adhesive failed. • The printer booted in Chinese/Japanese with no obvious English setup process. • Software bugs and weird slicer behavior started right away. Then the fault codes started rolling in: • FR2358 • BM0111 • BM2355 (“MCU task scheduling failed”) • CY2577 homing/Y-axis errors • Random spool holder “?” errors • Nozzle temp randomly reading 0°C • Failed starts and canceled prints for no reason And before somebody screams “user error” — no. I’m deep into fabrication, CAD, ASA printing, composites, engineering work, and custom automotive projects. I KNOW how to troubleshoot machines. This printer was fighting itself. The worst part is the inconsistency. You never trust the machine. Every print feels like gambling: • Random failures • Firmware bugs • CFS weirdness • Material profile conflicts • False errors • Endless recalibrations • TPU headaches • Prints stopping for no reason I spent more time troubleshooting than actually creating. What really sealed it for me was buying the competitor afterward. The print quality difference compared to Bambu wasn’t even CLOSE. The Bambu just worked: • Cleaner prints • Better surface finish • More consistent extrusion • Better software • Better ecosystem • Better reliability • Better overall experience The K2 Plus honestly felt like an unfinished beta product being tested on customers. The Bambu felt like a professional tool. That’s what makes this so disappointing — because the K2 hardware actually HAS potential. But Creality rushed this thing out before the firmware and user experience were ready. For a “flagship” machine at this price point, that’s unacceptable. I ended up returning mine after less than 10 prints because I completely lost confidence in it. I wanted to love it… but I bought a printer to build projects, not become a full-time unpaid Creality technician.
