I chose to retain the AC welding connections and tied the bridge rectifier into the existing system using new 2-gauge welding cable and adhesive-type heat shrink. It works! And it works great! Really makes welding with 7018 rod a breeze (cleaner welds, easier to keep burning rods, less splatter, less current required). Keep in mind that for clean 7018 welding, you will need to use a POSITIVE ground; this didn’t work so well for me with 6011 so I switched back to Negative ground for 6011 and it worked great that way.
