My Whirlpool Duet washer displayed SUD and F35 errors. Turns out this is a common problem. Most people believe this to be the fault of the Analog Pressure Sensor (APS) and most people replace it. I did so and it worked -- but now, three years later, the problem repeated.Replacing this part is straight forward. Unplug the washer, unscrew and remove the top. Turn the old part 90 degrees counter-clockwise to pull it away from the washing machine holding notch and then gingerly remove the wiring harness from the old part. Attach the wiring harness to the new part, insert the part into the holding notch, and turn it clockwise 90 degrees -- job done. Three years ago when I did this it took longer but this time it was easy -- a ten minute fix with most of that time fiddling with the harness.This time, after installing the new part, the error codes remained. I did some more web searching and found an answer. The real issue is a pair of fried capacitors. Search YouTube for Jarred Johnson's "New and Improved. Fix your Whirlpool Washer with "SUDS" and F35 error" -- it explains what's happened and why and what to do.The fix entails getting to the Control Panel Unit (CPU) and replacing two faulty capacitors, rated 2200uF/10v, with 2200uF/25v units. You may source the replacement capacitors locally from an electronics store (for under a dollar each) or order online (factor in handling & shipping).Getting to the circuit board is a bit of a chore, at least for me. You'll have fun dislodging the CPU from the washer, removing the plethora of wiring harnesses, and opening the housing unit which houses and protects the circuit board. But with some thought and care and determination (and perhaps choice but misplaced colorful language) it can be done. When I finally got to the capacitors I could clearly see the slightly distended tops -- a sure sign of fried/blown/shot/overextended capacitors.I had to borrow a soldering iron because I couldn't find mine (hadn't used it in years) but just could not dislodge the last bit of solder, even with a solder sucker. In the end, I took the board to a local tv repairman who replaced the capacitors for $10 -- parts and labor -- in about two minutes. (He just heated that soldered hole and slid in the new capacitor lead wire which slipped right in -- real easy once you see it done.)With the faulty capacitors replaced, my Duet washer works good as new.So. You can buy this expensive APS and maybe get temporary relief -- or go the extra mile and dig out that circuit board and replace the capacitors for a lot less. As I mentioned earlier, the APS solution worked for me for three years but this one may be the ultimate fix up front.

I have an 8 year old Whirlpool Duet Steam washing machine. Last month I started getting the "SUDS/F35" error codes. I did some research and found that the pressure switch was the culprit in my case. I ordered the switch and received it a short time later. My only knock was how it was packaged, it arrived in an envelope with bubble lining, this provided limited protection. I would think a small box would be better suited for shipping delicate items. Luckily my part made it without getting broken during shipping.Before you install the new pressure switch, read the instructions included with the new switch carefully!! If this switch is an upgrade from the OEM old switch that is being replaced, some new switches require that the connector from the washer will have to have the single plastic guide key on the edge of the connector trimmed off to allow the connector and the new pressure switch to connect properly. You will know this needs to be done if you can't get the connector to clip into the new pressure switch.I had to trim my connector guide key, I used a pair of pliers and simply grasped the guide key and twisted it off, voila, it connected to the pressure switch.I have washed several loads of laundry since the switch replacement, no issues, no error codes!

Received this product before the scheduled delivery date. Worked great and so easy to install. Took literally 5 min to replace. After reading a lot on the internet about the problem of f35 suds error code I decided to replace this part first. Not sure if this makes any difference on determining whether this part is bad or if it is the control panel but my washer was intermittent on throwing the code and would finally work after several tries. My husband said it seemed like it would work after warming up so he tried warming it with a hairdryer and it seemed to work fine after warming it with the hairdryer. The part was a perfect fit for my washer which is Maytag duet steam washer 5000 series. Good luck and hope this works for you.

This solved our problem, and since it'd been two weeks since the SUDS/F35 error had been seriously problematic, I splurged for the Amazon part to get Prime shipping versus waiting longer with other sellers that had more expensive pricing on faster deliver. The packaging was labeled "Whirlpool" so it seems to be a genuine OEM part. Before buying and installing this part, I had tried some other solutions based on what I read in these reviews, on YouTube and other forums, so a summary:- Washer is a Whirlpool Duet Steam WFW9600TW01- SUDS/F35 error occurred at the start of wash cycle- ran the washer's diagnostic test cycle but got stuck at C00 (1st "gate" in the test program). Searching the web should show you how to start the test, but I also found a yellow instruction/diagnostic sheet tucked in a pouch inside of the side wall, close to the corner by the pump, which listed the test procedure and program steps.- based on a YouTube instruction, I checked the steam function, and it was ok.- cleaned pump out drain located below washer drum; need to remove the panel directly below the washer door. YouTube videos were very helpful for this. I removed a lost wash cloth and ran the washer's diagnostic test again, progressing all the way through this time, but, still got the SUDS/F35 code when I tried to run a wash cycle.- tried blowing out the tube connected to the pressure switch and jiggling the wires; still get the SUDS/F35 code.- again, based on a YouTube instruction and the comments posted, since the diagnostic test completed successfully, I didn't think the CCU was the problem. To avoid buying this more expensive pressure switch, I wanted to check the CCU capacitors, but I had trouble removing the CCU, so I went ahead and bought this pressure switch.We've done about 4 loads now and it seems to be working normally again, fingers-crossed!

I bought this part to fix the SUD / F35 error code for my Kenmore Elite frontal load washing machine... and it worked!It's a bit difficult to remove the old part, but when that is done, the new part is easy to install.

My washer had the F35/Suds error. The youtube video by neptunewaxmotorcom describes the voltage measurements to make. Basically, if the voltage output of the analog pressure sensor is too low (his was 161 mv, mine was 216 mv) you will get the SUDS/F35 error, even if the voltage rises when the tub fills. I found if I repositioned the old sensor so the voltage was at a maximum (that's when the sensor port on the board is facing up) I could get the washer to work. With the good sensor, his starting voltage was about 386 mv, mine was about 425 mv. I had replaced the capacitors on my CCU, but the old ones measured OK and were not bulging. Cleaning the washer with vinegar and blowing out the hose didn't solve the problem. There are other issues that can cause this error, but in my case this was the source of the problems.
