Use longer screws
There are four screw holes on the latch pole. I recommend tossing these four screws as these would keep popping loose after the gate is banged closed a few times. In addition, the placement of the 4 screws at 90 degree angles and at around the same height causes the holes to drill into each other if you are not careful! After coming loose for the 4th time, I took 3in wood screws and drill length-wise deep in. Then I drilled a new pilot hole in the center of the plastic on the side, and screwed a single screw in the middle to avoid hitting the path of the other two screws.

Functional - Easy to install - Cheap plastic
The latches were received quickly, in good packaging, all parts included.Pros:- Relatively easy install- Simple to flip the mechanism for right or left swinging doors. The product arrived in a right swinging configuration and required disassembly of both mechanisms (8 screws total) to install.- Easy application that did not require drilling a hole through the fixed post.- Configurable to multiple post sizes, comes configured for a 4" wood post.Cons:- Very cheap plastic. I'm certain that these could break given any significant pressure.- Screws supplied are cheap metal easily stripped, and may not be long enough to properly secure the mechanism. I ended up sourcing 2" screws.- The latch rod requires to be cut to length with an angle grinder or dremel.I'm disappointed in the quality. I almost sent them back because although the design is ingenious the quality of the plastic seems inferior, and the supplied hardware was basically pot metal screws. The two sided gate mechanism did no work smoothly despite an effort to ensure that the guide rod was level. The guide rod cut marks were not sufficient to assist in the install.Going to see how it holds up but I'm certain that you could tear the thing off the post given any significant pressure. I used heavier duty screws so we'll see how the plastic holds up. Regretting not getting a more robust solution, but a positive is that it is VERY easy to install with no drilling required, though it will require a cutting wheel of some sort. Make sure you smooth the area where you cut the guide rod or the mechanism will catch. The two sides have to be level so the guide rod presses directly into the lever system on the opposite side. All in all... Meh... it works. Hope someone doesn't press on the gate too hard and break the plastic because the screws I installed won't tear out.

Best gate latch on the market.
Don’t waste your time buying the cheap ones from the box stores. This screws into wood or metal with 8 screws. If you are screwing into metal go buy a pack of self tappers. If wood it comes with what you need. I love it though. Easy to operate and great locking mech

If you have any doubt just go on Youtube they have a great informative video detailing step by step on how to install

Good product but one sent was different than pictures.
Unfortunately the one I received was different than whats showing on the pictures. As you can see it was slightly bigger and probably stronger but I wanted to replace a broken one on my steel fence and it would require drilling other holes right beside the existing ones. Might not sounds a big deal but I have couples of them already and wanted to use same key as well.

This is not exactly what you think this is...poor execution on the engineering.
Start with the good...it was super easy to install. I was looking for a gate latch I could lock from both sides...well technically this does do that. However the locks are completely independent from each other. As in, you can lock both sides but would have to be on both sides of the fence to unlock them in order to get out of the gate. To explain further...if you lock the outside button you are locked out from that side, however if you unlock that side and the other side where the latch is located and that side is locked you would have to walk around through the house or whatever to unlock that side of the lock. Now, if you don't have the latch side locked but the button side is locked the lock is easily defeated by sliding you finger in and flipping the latch lever up on the other side of the gate. just know what you are buying when you get this, great design but poor execution on the engineering. I would have returned it but failed to realize what it was going on until after I cut the bar to fit.

Cheap plastic
Good enough for a privacy fence gance, but not for a "securit" gate. Installtion screws are too short (hence unsecure). Plastic feels cheap.

Nice Lock - easy to install - easy to force through
its easy to install and definitely a bit sturdy, however, if you really want to force the gate, the lock will break
