This is a really nice bird house. I like that it is made of cedar, and has a predator guard. It also has a wire slide out tray in the bottom.. i have not seen this in other bird houses.. It is made really well and will hold up for many years. I recently purchased a birdhouse locally that is not made of cedar and it cost a lot more than this one. and I believe this one is made better. you could easily open the door pull out the wire screen and nail or screw this to a post. I personally don't like putting them on posts. I have in the past gotten the sectioned steel pole system from wildbirds unlimited, but I now see that amazon has a similar pole system and I believe it is less money on amazon.. I usually put a baffle on mine so animals cannot crawl up and get into the nest...I have quite a few bird houses on my property and I deffinetly recommend this one. Looking forward to seeing who will make it their home..

This is very cute and homey. Would highly recommend an eyebolt and heavy chain if hanging in a tree. I went to Ace Hardware and they only charged me for the hardware not the labor. Very happy with this purchase.

It is too soon to report how the ultimate reviewers, the birds, will rate this product. But I can tell you now that I spent an entire day online researching what the birds I wanted to attract needed/wanted in housing and this was the only product that met their requirements for coziness and my requirements for aesthetics, durability, and price. I absolutely LOVE this birdhouse. I bought four of these, two wren houses, and two robin platforms (from another seller), and if my yard were larger and had more territory for each of the species, I'd buy more. They are intelligently designed and beautiful.

i guess i got a newer model as it does in fact contain a cleanout on the back wall. it swings open. i will likely put a small piece of duct tape in the bottom to keep it closed.A small latch would have been nice tho. i also took heed of the "coming apart in the rain" posts previously and coated it 3 coats of Helmsman clear weather coating. i will NOT leave it out all winter tho. there is a price to pay for cuteness folks and i am happy to pay it. it is not as flimsy as a real INDOOR house might be. as with anything "artsy" you have to care for it. i am VERY happy with it. kinda late in the season but perhaps it will attract for the 2nd hatching if there is one. i intend to use a small screw to secure it to the top of a 4X4 post. it can be windy here and i dont think the birds would like being tossed about.

6/26/2108 This is really a nice looking and very nicely detailed bird house.10/23/2018 - Heed the warning as included on the product description, in copied note below. I have it outside under a tree so it get some, minimal, exposure to rain but it has almost completely fallen apart. Probably a good indoor decoration but does not hold up outdoors, didn't even last a whole season!Note: This birdcage is an antiquated handiwork made of high quality wood. It has poor waterproofness so if it is exposed to long-term rain outdoors, it will be easily corroded, which leads to the decrease of product life.

I bought 4 bird houses from Amazon from different companies and all 4 of them fell apart and this year I have no bird houses left standing. Getting my husband to build some bird houses that will last longer than 1 year. Very disappointed. They all look pretty but is built with thin wood.

I’m using it as an indoor decoration so can’t speak to its weather resistance but it’s super cute and well made. Packed well. Highly recommend.

This nest box is as PERFECT as possible.Floor space 4" X 4" which is the recommended space for a BLUE box.Raised wire screen across bottom to help with blood suckling insects.Front panel opens for clean out.2 predator or guards for Eastern Blues or Mountain Blues which are a bit larger. I am using the larger on another box! They run about $5 EACH! Thanks Wild Bird Care.Front panel has cut area to aid fledglings when leaving the nest or just climbing to be fed or nosey. I do this to all boxes & FEW come with this 5 minute procedure but it adds up.GREAT ventilation & drainage holes.Ribbed roof to aid birds perching.JUST PERFECT BLUE BOX & GREAT for swallows & other nesting birds but we always observe so if we see Blues checking it out we shoo others away until the Blues decide on their box.
