Basically, it makes sure that he gets the full medicine dose.There are 2 ways to use it. With or without the mask. Insert the inhaler into the bottom of the device, place the mouthpiece in your mouth OR the mask over your mouth and nose snugly, dispense dose, and inhale for 20 to 30 seconds. He perfers the mask.One thing to note is that it does not work with the inhalers that have a circle opening. It only works with the rectangular rounded ones.I like that I knowing he's getting the full dosage. I also got our older kids one and one for my husband and I.
