In an effort to keep up with all the faddish health gimmicks I tried this one out. FIRST OFF DONT BY THE PH TESTER this product comes with one already I was pleaseantly surprised when I opened the bottle first thing I did after rinsing it was to give it a test run and sure enough it alkalized the water. As far as taste; yes it definately changes the taste of water for the best almost like crisp fresh mountain water, you know the kind that salmons swim in and bears crap in lol. I think the only drawback to this is the small filter you have to pull out everytime because when you go to pour the water out it pops out unless you hold it back with your finger. Also that process alone is somewhat annoying if your in a hurry. It would be a 5 star rating if that were streamlined more maybe a locking in place mechanism? But over all you cant beat the brice for about 3 years of average use. I did notice I was having more bowel movements when I first started using it, considering I didnt change the amount of water I was drinking a day I found that interesting. Also I decided not strictly drink from this after reading all the conflicting "scientific studies" I decided that having a body in either extreme could have negative side effects so I drink this and regular filtered water from my fridge through out the day to try and keep a balance so to speak. i would recomend this.

Ive bought this because i started reading about the benefits of alkaline water etc etc. This product does what it says, it makes the water more alkaline but i myself have no ORP meter to test this, so unfortunatly i cant say if it does anything to that regard. Now unfortunatly my Ph tester got a leak somewhere during shipping, which now left me with just enough to test my water ph before and after it passes through all the filters.TO MY SURPRISE!Here in Aruba we have been told that we have the best tap water in the world. And during my testing I can also conclude this to be true. When i tested the ph of the tapwater, it was already in the light blue, making it anywhere between 7.5 to 8.And ph levels of the water after 10 to 15min in the IonPod, it got a dark blue color which is exactly the color 9 on the ph scale which is still impressive to me!The Ionpod does with it says it does, but i gave it a 3 star because of the minor spill in the ph tester. but atleast it was contained in the plastic bag.

Wow, really impressed with this
Wow, I am really impressed with this. After reading some of the "iffy" reviews I decided to give this a try, and I am soooo glad I did. It comes with a ph testing kit so I was able to test the water in the ionpod and compare it to both tap and brita filtered from tap. The results actally impressed the hell outta me. The tap came out at approx. ph of 6.6, brita filtered tap at approx ph of 7.6-8.0, and my ionpod water at a ph of apprx. 9.0 Absolutely shocking results. I mean it makes sense the results, but maybe I didn't expect this thing to work so good. Granted I filled my ionpod up and was sipping on it over the course of an hour...and tested it probably close to the end of that hour...and had approx. 1/2 a vessel full. Maybe in the future i will test it at various time lengths to see if it rises quicker. I just was busy and tested it when I did...Another thing to note, which I liked a lot, was the ph liquid tester that comes with it. More specifically, it asks you to put 4 drops of the liquid tester in 2oz of water and the results are outstandingly easy to read, the colors are clear and very different from each other making reading the ph level easy. For example, the scale reads 4.0 red, 5.0 orange, 6.0 yellow, 6.6 lime green, 7.0 light green, 7.6 dark green, 8.0 light blue, 9.0 dark blue, 9.5 dark blue/purple, and 10.0 light purple. As you can see the color scale is very differentiated. I used the urine ph strips and reading the results on those was horrible and almost impossible to read. the colors all looked the same from 4.0 all the way to 7, then again were hard to differentiate from 7 onward, supposedly using various shades of the same 2 colors. I will be using this everyday, the canister size is a bit small, but hey what can you expect. It's just so nice to see that it works sooooo goood. And a plus, I really do have to say the water really does taste great. Smooth and not too hard tasting, but has a hint of mountain fresh in it. I bought the concentrace liquid trace minerals and they just happened to arrive before my ionpod so I was putting them in my brit a water, but honestly I couldnt test it, the ph strips I had we horrible and the water tasted very very hard, like dry hard. So I am completely impressed by this. tastes grat, works great and won't have to add trace minerals. Does it all on its own.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong with this product. But my bp seemed to get worse after taking it for 3 weeks (I am on bp meds by the way). I would drink 3 to 5 canisters of ionized alkaline water in the morning daily for 3 weeks. I felt I was getting better because I felt so relaxed and sleepy after taking it (I felt oxygenated, but lethargic at the same time). After weeks, I monitored my bp and it was higher than before. This also did not help my blood sugar. I'm not sure why. I love the IonPod and want to try it again. Maybe it conflicted with my medication? I would drink an hour before or after the meds. Otherwise, maybe 3 to 5 canisters (about 50 ounces) at one time is simply too much.I tried to find if the pod added magnesium to the water since that can be a relaxant, but I couldn't find exactly what alkaline minerals are added.Nice device but something is conflicting with my medical protocols.
