Perfect solution, and way cheaper than other brands
I had a couple problems with my HT setup, a ground difference and the hardest to fix: a DC offset causing some low volume, "static-like" noise on my KEF speakers. After researching a lot, found the common answer was to buy an expensive, top of the line AVR+Noise filter from brands like Furman, Panamax, etc. The big problem is they cost several hundred dollars. Then I found the CMX-2, made by a good amplifier brand, specifically to fix this kind of problems, and a LOT cheaper ;)Since I installed it, all noise problems are gone. Both the DC offset that affected my KEFs and the common ground issue that affected my Rythmik F15HPOne note:There are 2 versions of this noise filtering/power strip:CMX-2 (this one) that has the DC-offset filter and 2 outletsAnd the CMX-6 that has 6 outlets but lacks the extra filtering this one has.Be sure to buy the CMX-2 if you have noise/static in your speakers, I did and is working wonderful :)

Sad. Did not work for in my case.
The CMX-2 did not work for me. The transformer hum is still there.BUT, the build quality on this product is SUPERB. It has a very high-end feel and look.

An expensive two plug power strip. Very disappointed.
I've heard good things about Emotiva and I was having a problem with my subwoofer picking up noise off of the ground in my house. I've gone so far as to replace the amp in my subwoofer, but I did not have any luck. I then saw this AC line restoration and common mode filter power strip. I saw good reviews and figured I would give it a try. It made absolutely no difference. There are some lights on the power strip that indicate if you have proper wiring to the outlet you are using. This is useful to let you know if you have a bad (or no) ground, swapped line and neutral wires, etc. I figured this to be a nice feature in case there was a wiring problem in a house where plugged in. These lights worked at first, but then after a couple of months, one of the lights burned out. I contacted Emotiva customer support expecting that I might be able to send it in for repair or maybe get a replacement. After almost a week of waiting for a reply, I was basically told that if my subwoofer still works, then don't worry about it. Now another month later and all the lights are burned out. I don't know if they had a batch of bad LEDs, if the just used cheap LEDs or if there is something wrong with the circuit that drives the LEDs, but I wouldn't expect them to burn out in only a few months. Just to make sure, I tested the electrical outlet, and sure enough, it is fine, so the LEDs are burned out and not just telling my that my house is a mess.In all, this has turned out to be a beefy looking power strip with only two plugs and some burned out LEDs, and it was not at all cheap. For the price, I would have thought Emotiva would have at least wanted to try and make this thing tip top. I am quite disappointed with the Emotiva brand (product and customer service) and not sure I will procure anything else from them.

Great unit and does what it says it does
Great unit and does what it says it does, plus no diminished dynamics. Didn't eliminate my DC offset / harmonic distortion hum in my transformers 100% but it reduced it quite a bit. PS Audio Humbuster did not do as well plus it made my system sound subdued. Seems to be very well made and not limited to the amount of power it can filter and deliver.

Works like a charm! Highly recommended!
I was pulling what remained of my hair out trying to figure our why my JL Audio Fathom F212 subwoofer's internal toroidal transformer was at times very quiet and at other times audibly humming very in a very distracting fashion. Installing dedicated 20 amp circuits, moving the sub to the other side of the breaker box brought not a lick of relief. After reading many articles I decided that D.C. offset on the A.C. line maybe be the culprit. The two options for experimenting were to obtain a toroidal isolation transformer or a device like the CMX-2. Not having much luck in the past with isolation transformers (they can hum as well!) I decided to give the CMX-2 a try. After hooking it up I can tell you I've reached audio nirvana once again. The F212 is as quiet as a church mouse even with my ear right against the cabinet! It's the best money I've spent in a long, long time and if D.C. offset is your problem, I can recommend the CMX-2 unequivocally! As a matter of fact, I'm going to buy another one just to have on hand!

Ok for a turntable, better for computer audio, ultimately worthless though a $100 outlet
It looks very nice. Adds a little hum or 60 hz grounding issues but only 2 outlets at $100? A Furman rack mounted with 8 outlets and digital display of voltage and amps.

Did nothing (not a problem) but overheating to the degree that I can't touch it? That I have a problem with.
I had a hum coming out of my emotiva amps (XPA 2, XPA 5, XPA 5) so I bought a power conditioner and plugged everything to a same dedicated 20A circuit. No improvement what so ever. I also noticed a very slight hum coming out of the power conditioner which kind of matched the symptoms of a dc offset. So I went ahead and ordered the CMX-2. First off it did nothing to the hum from the power conditioner and or the hum at the speakers. I tried to plug the amps and the receiver straight to it and also no difference. Now the bad (or worse) part. I left it plugged over night and when I came the next morning, it was burning hot as in can't touch it for more than a second before it burns my hands. The Furman power conditioner was cool as none of the equipment was turned on. I unplugged it and since I couldn't hold it from the metal part, I held it from the cord and with such a heavy weight, the cmx-2 separated from the cable and almost broke my foot. ( I realize this is not typical but I just wanted to mention it as I now hate that device with a passion!!).
