UPPAbaby MESA Infant Car Seat Base (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

We are really living the uppa baby vista/Mesa system. It was a very generous gift from my mother in law and had been perfect. Our 3 week old loves the pram and sleeps in it every night in our room. She is getting used to the car seat, but doesn't love it yet. The carder and entire system are very easy to use and intuitive. The seat is sturdy and feels very safe and secure when attached to the base. I wish it didn't need adapters to snap into the vista stroller frame and uppa baby ultimately needs to fix this so that the pram, stroller seat, and car seat all use the exact same locking mechanism to attach to the vista stroller. But, that said, the carseat stroller adapters came with the stroller and are easy enough to attach/detach. I've heard people say this car seat is too heavy, but we haven't found that to be an issue and are very comfortable with the safety and quality. I'd definitely purchase the system of it hadnt been a gift.

I've been researching a few of the car seat bases out there for a number of years now. A number of years ago, I really liked the Orbit system due to the tensioning mechanism and the ability to load the seat in via the natural orientation, then rotate 90 degrees.That said, I find the tensioning mechanism on this MESA the best I've ever tried, to date. Simplest via the LATCH system of course, with clear green vs. red indicators for both tension and level. I also found the bottom of this unit to be smooth enough visually to not give into the urge to protect one's car seat with a towel or similar.

Have had no concerns with the base, fastest latch installation in the history of me installing an infant seat. very easy to read. Only complaint would be that I know that my base is installed correctly, but I can slightly see the red (which indicates an improper level/installation) in the window - it would help if this was looked at a little more carefully by the engineers so that the red/green would be slightly closer to the window, ensuring that the red would be completely out of view by the parent.

I purchased and received this car seat base in a timely manner and in good condition. (It is an extra base to use for "Grammie's" car as my daughter and son-in-law have their own base and Mesa car seat.) It is easy to use and the instructions for set up and installation are clear and concise. I would recommend this to others for purchase.

our local police have a program where they install the base. they did it with ease, particularly because of the wratchet feature of the holding straps. they allowed for a very tight and secure fit to the seat.

Great to have for the Grands car!

Perfect clone of the one that came with the original. Amazingly simple to install with car seat anchors. Two hooks and then a cinching down.

this is a fantastic product. VERY easy to install and it has re/green indicators to confirm the installation is correctly positions and securely tightened. Highly recommended!
