Review: Excellent, well designed, sturdy, easy to use - It blows me away how perfectly this stapler is designed and built. My first project was 5 sheets of 28 lb. letter-sized paper folded in half to make a 20-page booklet; adjust your expectations accordingly. I ordered the recommended staples but ended up using a cheap no-name product we had on hand because they were just a tad shorter and looked better. I had no mis-fires; my technique is to line up and give it a whack rather than a polite push. The gadget is well made. The metal is plenty strong - no sense of flimsy - and the stapler itself opens 180 degrees (and stays open) to fill. There are appropriate anti-slip pads where they need to be. Centering the staple exactly at the fold turned out to be fairly easy. The folded booklet nestles nicely on the ridge and comes close to no-brainer perfect alignment but if you want perfection spread your positioning hand over the booklet, pushing away from the ridge with fingers on one side, thumb on the other, and feel the booklet snug into place. If you're aligning your paper with the edge of the stand to place the staple a reasonable distance from the edge, you can also glance at the "peak" of your booklet relative to the peak of the stapler's ridge. If you don't do that you'll generally be dead on or within a staple-thickess off. A plus for storage between uses - it's more compact that it looked in the picture (and desertcart's stated product dimensions are often meaningless) - but it comes in a re-usable box that's about 5x5x12 or so.
Review: Works, didn’t jam vs the long bostitch I had used - Used right away to staple 225 booklets (5 page folded legal paper) without issue. Used standard sized staples that I had on hand. I ordered this because where I work, I always jam that one. So, didn’t jam this one! The booklet curls over. Since it’s heavy duty, it has some weight. It doesn’t NOT easily slip off a temporary table. Since the copier’s stapler was broken 15 weeks, this was less than printing 225 booklets 5 pages at a print shop/package delivery place that also has printing. So, it was a very good value for the money, and the stapler is what usually breaks on our copier. So, I am sure that i will use again.

**Q: Which staples do you recommend with this stapler?**
A: For the purpose of stapling a 56 page booklet (folded 8.5 by 11 sheet), I used Bostich 1/4" Heavy Duty Staples. Cheap staples only bring grief with booklets. Better to go Bostich stapler and staples. The staples are labelled heavy duty but really they are like medium duty as the gauge of metal is not really thick.

**Q: Does this stapler come with staples?**
A: No. It does not come with staples.  It uses standard office staples.

**Q: How many pages does this staple?**
A: I haven't tried too many regular (20-24#) pages but my last booklet was a 64# cover and ten 32# pages and it stapled dozens with no issue.

**Q: I would like to use this to make booklets from 11" x 17" sheets folded so the 11" is at the top and the 8-1/2" is on the side. Will this stapler work?**
A: I'm sorry that I don't have the stapler at my house because it belongs to a club 45 minutes away (so I can't just look at it and answer the question). However...when I did not have a saddle stapler and had to use a regular stapler to make booklets out of 8-1/2 x 11" paper, I folded part of the paper so it would fit in the stapler. I suspect you may have to do the same with this stapler if you're using the legal sized paper.I did a search on this, and one of them "accepts paper up to 24" wide." You may have to call the company and ask them.
