Love these dishes
Love these dishes! My husband is a clutz and I have two kids under the age of 4. I knew my old ceramic dishes werent going to hold up any more besides most of them being chiped and some leaching a chemical smell after 10 years. My mother and grandmother both have corelle. I have seen how well it holds up after 30 years. Finally bought my own. Love how the white dish makes food pop on it. Very classy. Very lightweight and stack nicely so they take up way less space in my hutch. The best, love it.

A+ for these dishes
I replaced multiple sets of Pfaltzgraff with this set - it certainly isn't fancy, but it gets the job done. I can't speak to longevity, but I am impressed so far.I wanted to solve 3 big problems and 1 minor inconvenience:1) Pfaltzgraff 'stoneware' chips all the time. If the plates touch in the dishwasher, if you try to put them away slightly warm, if the plates bump anything even lightly...you get the idea. Really annoying when after just a few years almost all of your plates have at least one chip. Those plates aren't cheap. I have small children and frequently have guests - my dishes get used. Not rough, but used. These Corelle dishes stand up to being used, put in the dishwasher, etc. They seem pretty sturdy and resilient.2) My old dishes were HEAVY. I couldn't let my child carry them. Heck, I could barely carry a stack of them. The Corelle are very lightweight - so much so that you might think they are flimsy, but they aren't!3) My old dishes really sucked in the microwave. You would have a burning hot plate with cold food or scalding mug with cold liquid. The Corelle conducts the heat so much better that I have to keep reminding my husband to use less time when microwaving. The plates/bowls do get warm on the bottom because they are thinner, but I'll take that over getting burned outright! My minor inconvenience: Other dishes are only sold in place settings, so you end up with a million mugs that (if you're like me) you never use. Even if you need 12 place settings (like I do), who honestly needs 12 mugs?! Pfaltzgraff is bad about this, especially if your dishes are discontinued at some point. But I digress. This set is ideal, because you get what you need and want - dishes and bowls with 4 additional serving dishes. They are nice looking dishes - very simple - but the wow factor comes from how practical they are. Incredibly lightweight, take up less room in the cabinets, stand up to daily use, and look pretty good while doing it. I'm completely pleased!**Update 09/10/2015** I'm still loving these dishes and still impressed. I accidentally dropped a dinner plate on my travertine tile floor (covered by a rug, but the floor nonetheless) and it DID NOT break! I had already braced for the shattering and was shocked when it didn't. I don't recommend testing this out, but I am very happy to still have 12 plates. My Mom is tickled that I bought Corelle - she has a set that has lasted for 30+ years. I would recommend these to anyone - they are worry-free.

Perfect!
There’s nothing to dislike. We’ve been using this dinnerware every day for nine years. There’s not a chip on any of it, it’s easily stackable taking much less cabinet space, and it’s oven-safe.

Only problem I have is the plates and bowls are super thin, so hot meals or soups on our ...
Holy cow, I think we've gone a few months without breaking a dish! This is near impossible in our house of 5 kids. It's quite plain and uninteresting, but saving $$! There were a couple dishes that broke within the first few days, I assumed just mild compression fractures from packaging and shipping that didn't last the first dishwasher cleaning, but since then everything is still in tact! Only problem I have is the plates and bowls are super thin, so hot meals or soups on our table makes that white mark in the finish, and we've never been able to get the hang of placemats to help protect it. Great set, would def buy again.

Great value for money.
What a great lightweight set of crockery. Our old plates were heavy china and although they had lasted a long time, these old hands were getting tired of picking up that weight. On vacation recently, these Corelle plates were stocked in our condo. We were all amazed at how light and easy to use they were. Even the kids loved them!. Of course, we liked them so much that as soon as we got home, we ordered them on Amazon.Although we would have liked the embossed ones, those are not available in a large 12 place set like this one. So we went ahead and ordered these. They are very light - almost to the point that they seem too fragile. But a plate dropped on the floor recently and it didn't break so they seem quite durable - although I don't think we want to be doing that a lot. There are all sorts of plates and bowls that you'll never be wanting for any particular type. There are no mugs in the set which is Ok with us since Corelle mugs are porcelain and not glass like the plates. Being plain white, they look good with anything. These are highly recommended if you're looking for a lightweight set of plates.

easily! In the dishwasher
Evidently new Corelle dinnerware is not as durable as old Corelleware. We had some that was 25 years old. The edges were rough and I wanted more of them so I decided to get a large new set to replace the old ones. The new ones break... easily! In the dishwasher, taking them out of the dishwasher, unstacking them... just ordinary handling that the old ones handled just fine. This truly is not your Grandmother's Corelleware and this time it's not a compliment. I liked Corelle dinnerware. It's lightweight and space efficient. It's not supposed to break easily, though!

Decent set but a bowl arrived chipped.
I like this set a lot due to the non-porous surface. It is what made me choose Corelle for my new dishes. It arrived on time and mostly as expected. The sizes and variety are what I wanted since I don't need the little cups as seen in other sets. The reason why gave three stars was because one of the bowels in the set arrived chipped. My research and the product indicated how chip/break resistant these were so I was surprised to find it upon unpacking the box. I have a message into Corelle's website to see what they say...

My Favorite Dishes
The Corelle Livingware dish set is a beautiful yet simple set of dishes. They are ideal for everyday use, kitchen prep, and serving. They feel nice in the hand, delicate but amazingly sturdy. This set comes with enough pieces as to be perfect for a family. The crisp white looks clean and fresh, and I feel pleased every time I see them. I would recommend these as an practical and timeless choice for anyone.
