This adapter is absolutely perfect. Attached smoothly and easily to a Minolta MC Rokkor-x 50mm f1.7 lens. The adapter is very solid, and full metal construction. This looks nice, and blends well with the lens. There is a red dot on the adapter where the white dot normally is for Sony lenses to align and mount to the camera. There is a metal button on the side of the adapter to remove the lens if necessary. I have used this on my lens for over a month all through many areas and about 500 shots without a single issue. I would highly recommend this adapter if you have a Minolta MC/MD mount lens to be used on an e-mount (NEX, a3000-a6000, a7, etc). Personally, I have found manual lenses much better than AF for many reasons. Mostly because I can manually choose the focus and aperture control without setting my camera to that mode. Ultimately, this allows me full manual mode while my a6000 is in shutter priority or intelligent modes. This allows for beautiful pictures if you are not in a rush, and can take the time to perfectly focus. It takes some practice to figure out which aperture setting you need to provide the proper depth while focusing manually (you can go infinite or choose shallower depths). All in all, this is a very reasonable way to upgrade to a manual focus primary lens instead of $300+ for an e-mount lens (I paid $20 for the lens). Note: Keep in mind if you are going to use something like this on an APS-C camera (pretty much all e-mounts except the a7), 50mm does not equate to the "human eye". In basic terms, if you use 50mm with APS-C the view will look zoomed in compared to you just looking with the naked eye (meaning you might have to back up to take the picture). If you are looking for the "human eye" perspective I would recommend a 28mm, 30mm, or 35mm. The 30mm is the closest (I believe its about 29mm APS-C is equal to 50mm on full frame). Pros: cheap, metal, looks good, functions perfectly Cons: no auto-focus (if that's your goal) Review: Easy Simple and Durable. Highly Recommended! - I purchased the Fotasy NAMD Pro Minolta MD MC Lens Adapter to use with my Sony A6000 in conjunction with a Minolta Rokkor-X MD 50mm F1.7 lens. Upon initial inspection, I noticed the MD/MC input side was made with metal while the housing and E-mount side was made with plastic. This had me questioning the durability of the product. Turns out the body and E-mount side are made of anodized aluminum. As of a month and half later, I've had no issues with durability. MOUNTING LENS: The adapter has a red dot to line up when attaching the MD/MC lens and a red dot to line up with the white dot on the E-mount of my Sony A6000. Mounting the adapter to the Rokkor lens is tighter than mounting the adapter to the camera body. Mounting the Rokkor lens requires a little extra muscle but not enough that I thought I would break the adapter. Each side gives a satisfying click once attached. MD Lens: Since buying the adapter, I've acquired 2 additional Rokkor lens (28mm f2.8 and 70-200mm f4.5). Both lens have a tight fit like the 50mm Rokkor. This is nothing to worry about and could be how the MD/MC lens mounted to the original Minolta bodies. The telephoto 70-200mm lens is heavy and long, and the adapter hasn't shown any signs of fatigue or stress. FUNCTIONALITY: Once attached to the camera body, in the menu, switch "Release w/o Lens" from Disable to Enable. Since there's no communication between the body and the lens (fully manual lens) the ability to change aperture/zoom settings on your camera will be disabled. Aperture/focus/zoom are adjusted on your lens of choice. From here you can shoot away. In the A6000, there's additional features to make focusing easier, such as zooming in or highlighting the focused area. This isn't a feature of the adapter but if you're worried about manual focusing, the sony cameras make it very easy. Recommendation: I'd highly recommend this adapter.
