WOW
After using two 19mm panoptics for a while on the moon and planets I decided that it is time to start viewing some deep sky targets with two eyes as well. Mostly globular star clusters, open star clusters, planetary nebulae, dark nebulae, galaxies, and emission/reflection nebulae. The 19mm panoptics are great, but these 24mm panoptics are the outer envelope for their size. They are fantastic in a pair of 30mm Carl Zeiss binoviewers. Through a dobsonian everything is sharp and bright. Through a large refractor stars are impossibly sharp. The field of view is so fully illuminated you forget about the fact that you are using binoviewers—it becomes irrelevant. I even modified one of my telescopes, removing about 50mm of the tube so I can reach raw focus without the use of optical correctors. WOW! Glad I did. Hands down, besides my Nagler T5, these are the eyepieces that I love the most for both wide field, and deep sky closeups.

Great eye piece for 1.25 inch scopes
I've only used the eye piece once since purchasing, but I absolutely love it! It is the second time I've purchased a higher priced eye piece and it is absolutely worth it.It came in extremely fast shipping, just 2-3 days. The box it came in was smaller than expected, but it came with exceptional packaging (it should for that price). The box is very sturdy and the packaging inside can help protect the eye piece for years to come-you don't need to get an extra eye piece carrying case for this at all.The eye piece itself is a bit bulky and heavy-I was a bit worried that my Nexstar 8 inch telescope might not be able to handle it-but it fit in perfectly into the 1.25 diagonal that came with the scope. My first time out with the eye piece I could automatically tell the difference between this eye piece and the introduction eye pieces that came with the telescope and even the other Celestron eye pieces I do have. While the objects don't appear BIGGER in this eye piece they appear much more sharper and more detailed. The stars themselves are incredibly sharp and don't appear to have that 'jumpy' feel when you look at them with other pieces.I was looking at the Orion Nebula and it looks absolutely fantastic in this eye piece. The gasses in the cloud look incredibly detailed and this is the only higher magnification eye piece I was able to also view the trapezium of the nebula in-all the other eye pieces I have I could not see the 4 bright stars in the center of the nebula until breaking out a 10mm eye piece or lower. The Celestron 15 mm eye piece i have and 25mm eye piece could not see the trapezium vs this one you can see those stars very brightly. The field of view is also pretty amazing and it's a great introduction to bigger field of view eye pieces.Another great thing about it is it comes with lifetime warranty.

24 Pan
The 24 mm Panoptic is a great piece of glass. Wonderful views in my 8" Newtonian reflector (xt8i) and my 60mm Meade refractor. It has excellent build quality as expected from a TeleVue product. It is an upgrade from Meade 4000 series plossls. I chose this one over the Meade super wide, because I plan to keep it forever and figured the additional cost was worth it in the long run. Although Explore Scientific has come out with a 68deg line which might have changed my mind if it was available at the time I purchased this.Pros:-Made by TeleVue one of the best companies in the business-Great build quality-Widely recognized as one of if not the best 68deg 24mm eyepiece out thereCons:-You pay a premium for excellence-significantly more expensive than the second best.-It is on the heavier side, but shouldn't be a problem for most scopes.

Good lower power eyepiece
Hey, it's from Televue, it should be good. And it is. I use this eyepiece more than any other. Good points: well made, good clarity across the entire view. Not so good points: heavy and expensive. But, you get what you pay for and this eyepiece lives up to the cost.

Amazing eyepiece. Read a few astronomy forums and you'll see this pop up as a favorite. Breathtaking crystal-clear wide-field views, flat with no distortion or chromatic aberration. Built with the legendary Tele Vue design, fit & finish. The best telescope makers in the world want you to use Tele Vue eyepieces so you can see how good it makes their scopes look. Yeah, it's not cheap - but if you're gonna look through a scope, you might as well see! Buy this, you'll be glad, it's one of the best eyepieces ever made.

Televue are simply the best. This is my third. Sharpness and crisp clarity all the way to the edge. Quality construction and a bit of heft spells superior quality. Thanks Al Nagler for your gear!
