Acid Neutralizing Mat 12" x 8" - Black

Nothing wrong with the mat and it was delivered promptly. Seems like a good productBut;This mat was too thick for my 2003 c5 corvette. I cut the mat to size to fit flat in the bottom of the battery tray. I have an Interstate 75 battery and the thickness of the mat kept me from getting the rear lip of the battery under the rear lip of the battery tray. In other words, I could not properly reinstall the battery. My guess is every 75 battery would experience the same problem.The rear lip height on the battery tray is designed such that the rear lip of the battery slides in snug under it. Any extra thickness between the tray and the battery and there is not enough room under that rear lip to slide the rear of the battery in.

I was really disappointed in this product and I wasted my money because the Acid Mat will NOT work with my late motel corvette battery tray... Reason being is because I carefully cut the acid mat to correct size and put it in the battery tray and all looked well until I set the factory battery back on top of this new acid mat and then I could not tighten down the battery hold down clamp because now with the new thickness of the new acid mat, there then is not enough room for the battery to slip underneath the back side lip that holds battery in place, which the battery needs to fit under... So I ended up taking the Acid Mat back out and will probably have to throw it away because it is useless for my application. Note: If your battery is held in place by a TOP side battery clamp then this product would work.But most cars these days are not a top clamp hold down design. Note to Seller, You should have stated in your add that this Acid Mat will not work if you have a bottom clamp hold down factory design. AM Disappointed!

Great idea, but will only know if it works when I have it in place for a long period of time. I put the mat in my home generator to prevent acid from leaking onto the base and causing excessive corrosion. I have already replaced the base due to both water erosion and acid erosion. The mat I believe will keep the battery from becoming a problem, and building up the cement pad by 3 inches will prevent water from entering the base during periods of heavy rain.

Like, it arrived OK, you want to get back to me on the quality in about 10 years? Impossible to evaluate the quality in a short time frame.I think the concept is a good one, bought one for the antique car and the newer car-- reasonable to put one in when you are changing the battery.Might be good to have a second, if you have a car that you pull the battery out for the winter, put the battery in storage on this, and use one in the car.

If your battery is of the flooded type, this is a must to protect sensitive parts of your motor in case your battery leaks. If you want to avoid having to worry about acid level, you should get an AGM battery which are sealed so ideally no acid leaks out. This mat looks as being strong and absorbent.

Hate cleaning up battery acid and repainting your battery tray? I do too! Now I don't have to worry about it, the mat has so far met my expectations as far as looks and exceeded my expectations as far as operation. I will keep an eye on things over the winter, no news would be good news!

I put this underneath the battery in my 15 tacoma because battery acid has been eating away at the sheet metal underneath the plastic tray it sits on. This mat covers underneath and should prevent any further corrosion.
