Some others take a second or two to display the temperature drop or increase and since time is of an essence to what I am using it for, it helps a lot. The self calibrating feature is fast and takes away the guess work. Big digits help to read the temperature from a distance.

**Q: Does it come with a case or anything to protect the probe?**
A: Yes, every Deltatrak I've ever purchased (and I have purchased several over the years) comes with a sleeve to protect the probe.

**Q: Does it have a back light for dark areas.?**
A: Nope! Just took it into the other room with no light, couldn't see a thing. But it is a great thermometer!

**Q: Has anyone experienced a top reading of 129.4? Unless the water temp. is very hot (+140F) it will peg at 129.4. I have 2 (11063) that do this.**
A: I use mine every day, I have temps from 120 to 169 degrees. Mostly my temps are in the 125 to 150 range. I've not yet in over a year of use experienced a lock up. 
Have you tried a reset of the unit? If so it may be a problem with your unit.

Some others take a second or two to display the temperature drop or increase and since time is of an essence to what I am using it for, it helps a lot. The self calibrating feature is fast and takes away the guess work. Big digits help to read the temperature from a distance.

I got this thermometer as a replacement for a cheaper one that got bent in a drawer. I'm so happy I did! It reads quick and is quite handy. It comes with a strong case and that's important since I really don't want to slam another thermometer in my drawer!
