The description isn't accurate; the handles are about 4" across and about 1.5" or so in depth - perfect for a hand hold. The rope is around 16" in length, which when doubled gives you about an 8" long pull cord. You can't feed one end around a tie or loop on your 'yak - you have to double the line. READ THE LISTING. THERE ARE NO RIVETS - THERE ARE NO SCREWS - so the reviews mentioning such are for a different product. The price is a bit steep, but, the rope can be replaced (it's 3/16" cord) and the handle reused, instead of buying a whole new assembly.
