Gaviscon Advance Liquid Peppermint Flavour 500ml

This stuff is the best there is no doubt! It may taste a bit odd and have a weird texture but if you can get past that it just WORKS plain and simple. I had what every doctor I went to thought was a chronic cough caused by my sinuses. They probed and stuck cameras everywhere trying to justify their diagnosis all to no avail because it just was not caused by what they all thought. I stumbled upon a book about silent reflux or LPR and started doing my own research and experimentation on that. Turns out that after more than 15 years I could finally put a name to what I had. My next goal was to find something that would help me get rid of it. I tried every over the counter product available and none worked for more than a short amount of time because they did not block the acid and pepsin from coming up causing my pain. Then while using a search engine I happened upon this product with the sodium alginate in it in an amount that allows it to withstand the acid my stomach makes. The Advance version while similar in content to the US version has 2 unique items that I believe make it work for me. One is the amount of sodium alginate (more than twice the US version per dose) and the other is the potassium bicarbonate. The potassium according to the literature makes a different kind of "raft" with the sodium alginate that in my case seems to actually keep my stomach contents where they belong and now all of my symptoms have gone away with no side effects. I watch the prices and availability and always try to keep 2, 500ml bottles on hand. The shipping from England is normally pretty good but this darn stuff works so good that I do not want to take any chances of running out.

 See video. I have been using this formula for about 1/2 a year. Works well for my GERD/LPR symptoms. Has aways been a thick pourable liquid. When I opened the recently received bottles (from seller A 2 Z ) they have the consistency of congealed lard, and are not pourable. So, I am a little hesitant as if I want to take a chance consuming this stuff. Since I opened the bottles, it is unlikely I'll get a refund from the seller. I would like to receive replacement products though, maybe from a different lot. I think that is fair. Lot was: 827172 Expiry: Oct 10 2020

This stuff did not work for me. It was too thick and made me gag and choke when swallowing. I don’t think it all went down so I had to drink water which I think just breaks the barrier and makes it useless. But that’s just me. I have swallowing issues from so much acid in throat so I may not be best candidate. The part that was most frustrating was what I was charged for shipping without even knowing it!I didn’t mind paying 25 dollars for the Gaviscon because I was willing to take a chance but somehow I was charged 35 dollars for shipping. I was shocked!!! So 55 dollars for something I can’t even use is disappointing. I ordered it on my iPhone so maybe was not aware or paying attention when I checked out how the shipping would be handled on this item. I would not have ever ordered this if I had.I have never had an experience in all my years of Amazon ordering that left me with such a bad taste literally and figuratively. I have a huge practically new bottle of Gaviscon which I can’t do anything with.I know from other reviewers that many people have success with this item and for someone who is struggling with acid I am happy for them that it works. I suppose it’s worth the risk just be sure you check how much you are being charged for shipping

This product is terrific. It truly works wonders. The taste was unpleasant at first, but knowing that it will relieve my terrible reflux has made it palatable. I look forward to taking it each night now. I have such severe acid reflux that I ended up with Barrett's esophagus. I was on PPI's, which gave me severe intestinal problems. After lots of research I modified my diet and take a T of this every night. I am controlling my reflux for the first time in years with no intestinal issues. One thing alone does not work, however. Find out what your trigger foods are and avoid those in combination with Gaviscon.

This is the only medication that has helped my reflux. Not even ppi meds worked. I suffered for a year prior to finding Gaviscon. I couldn't even eat. I lived on smoothies. Only bad thing now is that I gained weight. Yay! I can eat!

Absolutely great for people that suffer from acid reflux and do not want to or cannot take something else.It is important to know that Gaviscon’s formula varies from country to country. The formula sold in the UK is much more effective against reflux because of the higher concentration of algenates....but it also has sodium saccharin so as with any OTC due diligence is required before use!!

I have tried so many different medicines for reflux over the years, and nothing has worked wonders like this has. I can now go to sleep with confidence at night that I am not going to wake up aspirating on stomach acid. This truly is saving my life. Not sure why we can't get the same formula in the US, but at least we can get it from the U.K. The liquid is more effective and tolerable for me than the tablets. The tablets leave a pasty film all over my teeth for a while. I've tried both flavors of the liquid, and I like them both.

Gaviscon has really helped my hoarseness due to reflux. My ENT has had me try many thing to help my hoarseness, but nothing has worked. While doing some research I came across Gaviscon Advanced. While things are not perfect yet, I have definitely seen an improvement. I know sometimes this takes time. The liquid is thick and the tablets are chalky, but neither are that bad, and worth it since they seem to help. I want to also give kudos to the company. When I reordered the liquid, one of the bottles was broken in shipment I contacted the company through Amazon and they promptly sent me a new bottle. This bottle came through perfectly.
